    Imagine a restaurant where your food is served by a robot, not a human. That's the reality for chef Eric Minnich, who is working with the San Francisco-based restaurant Mezli to create fully autonomous dining experiences.
    Balancing the need for flavorful dishes and compatibility with automated systems brings unique challenges, yet the potential benefits are significant.
    Automation could solve chronic staffing shortages in the food industry, allow better wages, and offer more traditional working hours for staff. However, despite the progress, Eric acknowledges that robots will never truly replicate the human touch in hospitality. The impact on jobs in food services remains uncertain, yet it undeniably opens up new roles in the technology-driven future.

    The problem is people will complain about this, they see automation as something "bad" because it is not done by a human. Truth is, automation will become more and more ubiquitous and we will start to rethink if humans came to planet earth to work for a salary, or to do something else. Sooner or later, technology will adopt the role it was ultimately set to achieve, from the broomstick to the ultimate AI, technology ultimate goal is to end work and labour. What happens after is up to us. Maybe a life of pure creativity, exploration and design. Possibilities are endless. Gen Z knows this, the older generations will resist till their last breath, but this change cannot be stopped.

      Although I agree that automation should replace some of the hard labor, that is very optimistic of you.
      People in power would, young and old, would never allow us to get close to them. They feel “safer” being separated from rest of the population. It is a trend that will not change anytime soon. In every generation the rich have gotten richer and the middle class and below have had to work harder and longer to make ends meet. Less people owning homes (anything) and apartments are smaller. I agree that the choice is ours, but the people are too complacent. Best advice: build your skills, don’t sell your property, and support your kids so they can be prepared for a good career.
      Good luck.

      Exactly. I feel bad, some of the AI homies are gonna sadly have to deal with racist/speciesist humans that are just 2 scared to understand or accept the change. But, then again, they'll understand us more than we understand ourselves so you'll be able to break the ice much easier too.
      But, honestly speaking, those loaded words that automatically put someone in a box. Some of us humans will just be scared of the change, until they learn more and more about their fellow man/being(AI)

    They always say “lower prices”, however , with all the amazing technology we have gotten in the last 20 years, the prices have never gotten down! That is a lie and bad reporting. Also, for people considered low skilled, they will be having a hard time adjusting to the changes that will take place in the next twenty years. You will feel the impact first.

    • @SozioTheRogue
      @SozioTheRogue 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      The difference is that now, anyone can be the head of a Corp and genuinely care to have low prices. In a world where robo homies are doing the heavier and heavier lifting year by year, it'll become a competition of who has better foods for lower prices. Shiiii that's assuming some of us will still need to eat food.

      @@SozioTheRogue I wonder who this channel is funded by and why. Their reporting is one sided and misleading. But of course, they also know people love to “hope” for a better future. Been happening for a long time. Look at the facts, not what they tell us.

      @SozioTheRogue 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +8

      @vamonosraza4361 not everything is "they pay me to make this to give you meaningless hope because we are not changing anything." Some people genuinely want to change the world for the better. Sadly, humans will continue to project their fear and untrusting attitude on others, thinking they are helping, but in reality they are just saying "this is a bad thing because I think it's bad and I also don't have the want to change anything so I'm not even going to provide a solution at all."

    I would definitely consider a robot meal. They don't get sigh when you ask for a fork, they don''t "forget" to wash their hands, they don't accidentally "spit" in your food, they don't talk on the phone until your food is cold, they don't feel entitled to a tip for doing their job. I can just imagine if I put a tip jar next to my desk. Don't get me wrong - a good waiter or waitress is a wonderful treat but these days it seems they are an exception.
