8:10 this is just a magnetic flip-dot indicator, normally designed to be mounted on a front panel, it must be used here for calibration and maintenance. BTW I need to find more of such instruments but they are expensive, usually the cheapest ones I see on ebay are in the 100-150 euros price range.
@@BGTech1 Yes of course. I think it is easier with this kind of modular design, there are less parts than classic designs. For the digital ARINC 575 only the inputs have to be find.

This one was more expensive than what I'm usually willing to spend, but even then it was a good price for such a nice instrament.
Cool, I love these modular designs. I have the same but 8K instead of 8A for future teardown.
Hopefully the one you got has the display cards! I was disappointed to realize they where missing on my unit.
