I just needed to say thank you with more than just a thumbs up. I bough a cheep princess tiara for my girlfriend like 4 years ago. It got really rusted over the years. I Tried cleaning it with a more complicated method but it just didn't work. I tried this and it looks like new. She is now planing on wearing it for our wedding in a few months. So thanks again this was a huge help.

Just a little tip, if you buy pretend silver or gold, after wearing it, make sure you put it away in a little seal plastic bag, a small sandwich bag will do, flattening it so that there is little air left in there. I have found that they does not tarnish then. This also applies to silver chains or pendants. Something else if you are cleaning as above in the sink, make sure you put the plug in so if any small parts break off while cleaning, you can save them.

If it turns your skin green like a ring or something, put a coat or two of clear nail polish on the inside of the ring. It should stop it from doing so. Hope it helps

I tried this right after I watched the video above and IT WORKED!!! I couldn't believe it. I purchased a necklace from Urban Outfitters for like, $16 a couple months ago. It's a thin chain with a small "gold" bar (that's really made of "mixed metal", it's says on their website). It has a small 'a' on it for my daughter's name, anyway, it became tarnished-like more dark then gold colored. It looked grossed so I haven't worn it for awhile... :( This toothpaste+toothbrush+scrubbing method worked really well, and it's super easy; no time at all. It's not as shiny as it used to be (as expected, I suppose), but the varnish disappeared! I wish I would have known about this a long time ago. The only tip I have is be careful with inexpensive jewelry when scrubbing, don't do it too hard! Thanks for listening!!!

This is off subject but I started shopping at Urban Outfitters (online) like a year ago and i was buying sale items I ran acrossed a shirt with a pentagram and bought it. I have realized it is Satanic totally the eyes are in the pyramids at each tip of the star. Then I went into the store and was looking around and came acrossed Tarot Cards ( I used to use tarot cards for years and guess who showed up) I am shocked that store would sell something like that kids are going to buy those type of products that is not good. I just wanted to let u know about it.

@@justinbraineuy5742 perfect. ofc it depends on severity. Mine was tarnished a bit of rosy colored rust, wasn't really noticeable, but I don't wear it anymore. But it did take the green away and it looks rather new. It shines and cleans silver/metal up really good. You may have to do it a couple times but it does the job
      Definitely suggest colgate works best.

here are my two cents: it works and you can get rid of even the green parts with tootpaste. you won’t fully see the effected until you rinsed it off. some items though eg. little medalions have an extra coat of shine on them. when getting rid of the green/black chances are you will scrub this off and the jewelry will look duller but won’t be “dirty” anymore.i think it’s an ok price to pay.
