Hi! Great explanation, I would like to know if there could be any problem respect to the sensibility if I install the RS4D upside down in the ceiling. Thanks
Hi Joshua, the RS1D geophone specs are available for different devices through this page: raspberryshake.org/learn-support/diy-tutorials/ The RS1D, RS4D, and RS&BOOM all use Racotech 4.5Hz geophones, while the RS3D uses Sunfull 4.5Hz geophones.
By mounting three properly oriented geophones on a single board, like our RS3D unit: raspberryshake.org/products/raspberry-shake-3d/ it becomes possible to differentiate between vertical, N-S and E-W movements, capturing every aspect of af an earthquake.
Now I can create my own geophone. . thanks for this help
OMG...! absolute clear explanation
thank you brother.
Excellent explanation and Excellent video! Thanks for sharing. : D

Can you guys mention just mention a few things about the sensitivity, frequency-vs-output of the geophone that you used in your Rasberry Shake please?

Thanks you for clear explanation.whould you sale the geophones or in second hand.
Ok, but how does it differentiate between lateral and vertical movement?

Thanks for dismantling it...
can i solder it to xlr audio connector and make contact mic out of it?
Why not, you will need good amplification. And it will not sound as a normal mic.
where can i found this sensor only ?
Great
How much a geophone sensitivity value?(v/m/s)
how the damping in a geophone work?
For the mini project
ecellent
