    Many of us went down the same road that Curt Hennig did with drugs and alcohol. Some of us survived and escaped with our lives and some did not. RIP to "Mr. Perfect" and the others who died in their battle with drug addiction and/or alcoholism.

      True that. It could happen to anyone when dealing with the huge amounts of coke. I remember one time I was sure I overdosed and it scared me straight off Coke. Foaming at the mouth and everything. I look back on that night and thank my lucky stars I survived.

    • @ppiorkowski1502
      @ppiorkowski1502 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      @chadk890 Curt was definitely hurting when Rick died.....they were best friends since childhood so it's to be expected. But I highly doubt it effected him for the rest of his life. He wasn't a mental midget like Chris Benoit. I mean look at how Benoit broke down sobbing like a friggin child when Eddie died. I get that they were close and can totally respect that but you need to be able to control yourself as well. I mean Benoit just shut everyone out of his life including his wife and son. Hennig was asked about Rick's death like a couple days after the funeral in the middle of cutting a promo and you could clearly see that it bothered him. But he was able to keep his shit together and finish the promo and handled it PERFECTLY. And Rick and Curt had been childhood friends. Like very young and they were close. Their dads Larry and Richard Rood had a friendship before Curt and Rick so they were pretty much lifelong friends. And he was still able to keep his shit together. I think Curt's overdose was just an unfortunate accident. It surprised everyone so didn't sound like he was way outta hand. Unfortunately it can happen to anyone that uses cocaine or any other drug without medical supervision. You don't have to necessarily have a HUGE outta control addiction.

      The first wrestler I can remember that was my favorite. I never really went with the overly goodie faces (hogan, warrior), I always liked the guys that had a little bit of a mean streak and could go (hennig, piper, savage). It’s a shame they never really gave his son a chance, he can go too, just lacks that “It” factor, and by that I mean there’s just something that he’s missing, but he was doing good with heyman back in 2012.

They wrestled 1 on 1 at msg, on Saturday night's Main-event, Hogan even picked Curt as his opponent for his XWF match in 2001 (match that lead to his WWF return)....Hogan always had a hard on for Curt and always praised him, mainly because he made Hogan looks like a God in the ring.

    They never gave the answer, but Ultimate Warrior pinned Perfect on 11/26/89, then Hulk Hogan pinned Perfect in three straight house shows in December 1989, then Dusty Rhodes pinned Perfect on 2/23/90. Ultimate Warrior pinned him again on 3/19/90 in a match that was shown on regional TV. Great interview, but it's so sad to think of all the great matches, interviews and promo's we never got to see happen. It would have been so great to see a father son match with Curtis Axel. I reckon if Curt Hennig was still alive he would have never let Vince give his son the terrible Michael Mcgillicutty name.. also he was so right about Brock and Randy.
    I think Curt wo I uld have helped train Brock during his UFC run, (Curt helped train Don Frye after all)

    Lol...his streak was ended by Brutus Beefcake of all people. I think at Wrestlemania VI or VII. It's the same match where the Barber cuts the Genius (Lanny Poffo's) hair after Perfect bolts out of the ring for the dressing room after the match. Supposedly, Poffo had no idea that Brutus was going to do that and was very upset after the fact. Brutus says that Pat Patterson told him to do it before hand, but Patterson denies this. I highly doubt they would have had someone cut Poffo's hair without him knowing about it first. In all likelihood, Brutus was probably higher than a kite during the match and was spaced out and did it and then blamed Patterson afterwards to keep Poffo's brother Macho Man from kicking his ass.
