  • This week on @DesignerHomeTours, we take a look at the Kips Bay 2023 Dallas Showhouse, one of the most prestigious interior design events in the country. With 22 designers participating, each room in the showhouse is a unique and inspiring expression of the designer's personal style.
    In this video, you'll get a tour of some of the most stunning rooms in the showhouse, including:
    “An Enchanted Passage” by Meg Joannides of MLK Studio and Kristine Paige of Jackson Paige Interiors: This space features a dramatic verticality that elevates the ceilings and creates a warm and welcoming environment. The designers also incorporated a beautiful chandelier from Emily Lamar Lee and organic patterning on the walls to disguise the irregularities of the room.
    “The Gloucestershire: A Cook’s Kitchen & Scullery” by Kurt Bielawski of MORE Design + Build: This space is designed to look like an old European country farmhouse, with salvaged materials and a focus on functionality. The kitchen features a custom-designed floor with pyre from Artistic Tile, as well as Calacatta Rosa marble countertops and slabs.
    “Kano Garden” by Laura Lee Clark Falconer: This room is inspired by a Gracie wall covering with gilded clouds. The designer layered in contemporary artwork and vintage pieces to create a unique and inviting space. The star of the show is a Philip and Kelvin LaVerne table from Sputnik Modern.
    “Memoir of Marrakech” by Kristi Nelson of KMNelson design: This room is a full ensuite with walk-in closet, bathroom, and bedroom. The bathroom is a vibrant and playful space with a mix of pattern, texture, and color. The designer used materials from Artistic Tile and Fromental wallcoverings to create a luxurious and unique experience.
    “Liquide Library” by Jason Jones of Jase Jones and Associates: This bar is designed to look like a library, with a mural by Pierre Frey and a leather fridge from Jenn-Air. The countertop is Calacatta Picasso from Artistic Tile, which features a variety of light and dark tones.
    “Unfolding Elegance” by Darren Henault of Darren Henault Interiors: This bedroom features a layered and textured design with a mix of patterns and colors. The designer used materials from Cowtan and Tout, Fromental, and Gracie to create a luxurious and sophisticated space.
    The Master Bathroom “Unfolding Elegance” by Darren Henault of Darren Henault Interiors: This bathroom features a neutral color palette with Arabescato marble and a dramatic vein. The designer used materials from Artistic Tile to create a simple yet elegant space.
    “A Preston Hollow Shire” by Daniel Houchard of From The Ground Up: This garden is designed with a bit of whimsy and wonder. The designer used lush plantings, a water feature, and a custom kitchen to create a space that is perfect for entertaining.
    If you're looking for inspiration for your own home or you're simply curious to see some of the most cutting-edge interior design trends, the Kips Bay 2023 Dallas Showhouse is a must-see.

    All the tiles were so beautiful! Thank you for including the gardens, I really appreciated seeing them (I want a moon gate now!). Thanks Designer Home Tours.

    I like eclectic and I’m not a minimalist, but sometimes too much is just too much. I like the kitchen and the garden is amazing.

    These designer rooms are lovely. They are the equivalent of a runway look, not necessarily daily decor, just… a showcase. So just enjoy and see what can be achieved with today’s materials and designers.

    These show houses are always so far out there, normal people don’t live with so much detail and stuff.

    I’m getting a headache, looking at all these diff colors & patterns. Tbh I wouldn’t let any of these designers decorate my place, not even if it for free!!

      You are one miserable b#*&*. You wouldn’t hire the designers because you couldn’t afford them. 😂

      Agree. This episode made my Vertigo on Active Mode. It’s way too much.

      I have to respectfully disagree guys. I’m sick of people calling themselves designers, yet they live in monochromatic black and white homes. A true designer knows how to use colors and patterns and are creative and fun. My personal style is Wabi Sabi, so the complete opposite of this style, but I love to see how creative designers can get, because they are artists really.

      I love when pattern is used, & I especially appreciate wall murals. Wish I could afford to hang a mural in my own apartment!

    Yeah. Sometimes. For me, adding pink….no. But we can take what we like and leave the rest.

    What I hate about these showrooms is that they’re always too much. Every designer crams too much in there that it ends up being overwhelming. And the fact that it’s not cohesive doesn’t help. It’s like they think of what ideas would be cool and go them all at once. Which theoretically would be good, but it ends up crowded.

      @kevinm-py1nt 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Not always, but yes, there is a trend of "maximalism" in showhouses.

  • @tokyodrifttt

    The bathroom was probably the worse combination of wall, counter, floor, cabinet I have ever seen in any home video. Each pattern was already ugly especially the “art deco” one, and together it truly became a monstrosity beyond words. It’s as if they try to cramp as many ideas into one space as possible.

    • @greggdoty3076
      @greggdoty3076 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Totally agree--that bathroom is a monstrosity. The media room in the 2021 Kips Bay Dallas house was awful, too--I could only stay in that room for 3 minutes and I'm sure I'd could stay in the bathroom in this video for even less time. I'm not a minimalist but this maximalism trend in these designer shophouses is getting out of control. I really dislike most of these spaces. They damn near lost my right off that bat with the entry foyer. I shoulda quit then...

  • @Theonlylainayouknow

    You should consider asking the people who are not presenting to shut up and be respectful while filming. It was notably distracting to the designer describing the kitchen.

  • @patty9101

    They’re trying way, way too hard.

  • @patriciatravis4497

    The Foyer was the ugliest paper I have ever seen. If these designers are supposed to be the most talented chosen to decorate this home, I am at a loss for words😮 wow, how disjointed. Just how could they think this represents the ultimate in style and sophistication? I have never written such a negative review as this is so bad.

  • @whitemoon3317
