Sea Money I to was always looking for a tape measure. I found it easy to just measure 18” from the top of the grip on my rods and wrap a piece of tape. You always have your rods with no fishing without them!
Take 15 minutes and mark out inches on your Net , Paddle or Yak ...... or just measure arm . Then you don't have to worry about a tape measure . Love your show , always great fishing and interesting comments !
That looks like Lancaster county's Martin's brand bacon! Love their stuff. Make sure you try their sausage sometime. Not for the fish... For you 👍 Don't forget the turkey hill ice tea, too! Thanks for giving us entertainment for when we can't be in the water ourselves.
Got a couple types of fish . I put a sticker tape measure on the side of my kayak for a quick guide of sizes , no tape measure needed . Sounded pretty windy out there and ruff with all the boats and ski doos balling around . Crazy your using bacon was thinking of making a video with bacon for catfish 😁👌 Greasy meats lots of smell too sure many fish would eat bacon :) They be stealing your bacon indeed , catfishing would be easier because I can just wrap the bacon on a big hook and use some fishing thread to keep it on like I do Chicken liver . May not of been the best day but you got some fish was a nice day in my book . Pretty good video . lol I'll be using bacon but not for the kind of fish your looking for lol
You should consider marking a spot on your rod measured from the rod butt up, which indicates the 18 inch fluke mark. Could do that for other fish you hunt for as well
Hey bud great vid like norm. But I fish walleye and in my local waters 18" minimum like your fluke. Anyway I finally as a carpenter measured my own arm. Well turned out with my arm bent at 90% from the pit of my elbow to the tip of my fingers was 18". The mid palm line was 14" for other fish. Keep em comin man.
I first heard of the bacon thing almost 20 yrs ago just b4 gulp hit the market. It's a short killer most of the time but on some colder opening day weeks it has been good.
for sure. I usually quit backbay flukin late june. this year I gave it up pretty quick after struggling to find any keepers.. havent done much flukin this year and when I do Ive been pretty disappointed
@@ChrisMcIntee I hear ya.. I got out first time (on boat) last week at sandy hook..we must have caught 15 or so shorts 1 keeper and 25 garbage fish between 3 of us. So ratio not to swell..you prob better off doing those head boat trips till the end. TIGHT LINES SON RIP EM AND STICK EM
If you want a good Tape Measure I got a 16' perfomax that I'll send ya. The great thing about it is that once you pull it open it stays open and won't disengage until press the lock button
I start from the my rod butt and use permanant marker pens to put marks at 12 inches, 18, inches, 24 inches, and 30 inches. Easy to do and never without something to measure legal fish.
I'm surprised you didn't encounter any big browns out there trying to steal your bait. That inlet is thick with 5/6fters around this time of year. Dope vid 🤘😎
Hey wassup, been following you, and you're good at what you do, me and some buddies of mine are going out to Montauk this weekend to fish, any tips you wanna share in catching those big flatties
We used bacon for Winter Flounder, never for Fluke. Use Bluefish fillets fro Fluke. Measuring tape, mark your rod or your Boat. You always seem to forget something.
Have you given up on Hobie all together? Think that petal drive will out last and out perform an outback over time? Just wondering before I invest into an yak for saltwater.
yea I sold my revo, it is gone. I had given up on that kayak sometime in the past couple years, it was breaking nonstop and very uncomfortable, so im 100% old town now.. not sure how long this old town will last but so far so good. it does have hobie beat on warranty if nothing else. plus its cheaper.
for the record, I was about done with kayak fishing as I wasnt going to buy another hobie... old town reached out to me and offered their topwater 120 pdl free as a promotional gig and I said sure, turns out they make a great peddle yak, and I have since been kayaking fishing a lot more than in past couple years.
Sea-Money Fishing Thanks. I’ve been watching you channel for a few years and saw that your yak vids had slowed down. Good to get info from a fisherman and not just a rep or salesman! I was going Hobie until this year and watching the reviews on the OldTown... Between you and Romo I think I’m convinced. Elias seems to be more comfortable in a Hobie on the Ocean though... And that’s my only sticking point right now. What is a better ocean boat? And which drive performs better over time? I’m sure I’ll figure that out just watching more of your vids.. lol Thanks again
@@eastsidekulture elias just cracked his one hobie... think hes goin back to old town.. but who knows with him lol. honestly if you go hobie or old town youre going to get a good kayak either way.
Sea-Money Fishing haha yeah, saw that with Elias. I’ll have to just make a decision and maybe try and get a ride on each before I empty my bank accounts. Thanks for the response and info! Appreciate that you respond to your followers.
I love the channel and vids. Best thing that I got out of your channel was the use of scissors, I used to use a knife for evrything. Its so simple and stupid but the scissors are so much better.
😲!!!..bacon are you kidding me!!!??. It actually works!!.. I've done seen it all. Flounder don't come so far south? I'm in South Florida(Miami)..great video..keep doing what you do..tight lines
under the yak attached to the ducer plate. yea I think thats fine. you can keep it inside the hull too just gotta get it wet so it can read through the hull
2 minutes into your video. Quick suggestion, get a paper tape measure and clear tape it up on top of your kayak. Or permanent marker it on. Can also do that to your fishing rods... never need a tape measure again. :)
I know youre tall but Im tall and fat, do you think that yak would be comfortable for me? I know it has the weight capacity just want your opinion. Ive apparently been missing you by a day or two on my fishing excursions this year. I missed most of the spring but Im hoping I'll have more time in the fall. hope to run into you one of these days. tight lines and nice vid.
this yak has a catamaran style hull for extra stability, I think if there was any yak for a bigger person to fish in comfortably, this would be it. If you can handle the extra weight of the predator, that might be even better, although I havent tried that yak out. hopefully theres a dealer somewhere that does demo's and you could try it before you buy it
@@ChrisMcIntee thank you at least right now the weight shouldn't be a problem and hopefully a yak that Im actually comfortable in will get me in a little better shape. please keep the vids coming and watch out for dem crackheads. tight lines brother!
Chris, really...two years without a bacon video and this is what you film. You have to sell the bacon. You need to chum with the bacon and pick a spot that’s not a nuclear waste depot! Maybe name your new kayak the bacon boat. And at least catch and cook with the bacon. Mozzeltov!
Next time you use bacon try the steak cut bacon. Its thicker shorter slices and might stay on the hook better. Put the bacon in the gulp juice maybe? :)
Sea-Money Fishing yeah I know. Almost didn’t go because of them hotel prices. Luckily have family in Long Island and stayed the night with them, then drove to montauk the next morning. Doormats everywhere on the Miss Montauk
Try pancakes next time. Add chocolate chips if you don’t want dogfish, they can’t eat chocolate

Hey if you put a piece of yellow tape on your rod at 18" or and Rhode Island 19" you can just measure it against the your rod for a quick measurement
Whole rotisserie chicken flounder. Your first bacon fishing video was hilarious.

Pork industry taking a hit with the conlcusion of this vid.
You could put an adhesive fish ruler on your net handle or paddle, then if you forget a tape measure, you still have a backup measuring device!
Measure 18” on your rod and put a piece of electric tape at the mark. Never need a tape measure again.
Great minds think alike. I have a mark for redfish, flounder, and speckled trout (weakfish).

You ain't kidding about Gulp thief, took the Mrs. out in the Great Egg Harbor sunday and probably lost 25 bucks worth of gulp tails lol
it gets expensive quick oh yea
Here in Delaware we use scrapple but it's harder to keep on the hook.

On the plus side, those dogfish weren't of the spiny variety
true... that is a plus
I guess you could say he was going ham on those fish.
take a sharpie and mark measurements on your kayak. it'll last a season or 2
Did you ever try the Uncle Josh pork rinds? I remember them being tough as hell trying to get off the hook. Just a thought.
The bacon is back baby!
Idea: since you never have a tape measure, tattoo one on your leg so you always have it with you
Use permanent marker to mark minimum lengths on kayak floor or make marks on your pole

Where do you launch your kayak from when fishing Absecon Bay?
Why don't you put a mark on your rod at 18.2" from the base?
Was at that same spot Saturday and all shorts....wondering why in the yak didn’t you try the grass area across the bay?

Measure your fishing hole from the bottom to the top but a piece of tape or and mark where the legal size limit should be..... Problem fixed 😁👍

Never say Never. I wish I had a dollar for everytime you said "Tape Measure". I'm going to create the Sea-Money Tape Measure App.
There are so many things on your kayak that you can turn into a tape measure. Looks like you opened up the junk drawer at the end.
I use bacon to catch catfish. Now I’m gonna have to try it for flounder.
Are you going to fish the CCC this fall? I plan on making a trip
not planning on it
Whatever happened to your bunk board?
Looks like you're just outside the absecon inlet
Can we start a GoFund me page to get Chris a pair of pliers?
And a box of tape measures
Taking the kayak down oc md first week in sept for some flounder fishing if you want to join me... Ill supply the bacon.. Lol

Just put 2 permanent Mark's on your kayak for the measurement you want. That way you'll always know, even if you have a tape but loose it Somehow.
