    Great info as I just ordered this product. I’m 54, and the last model I built was back in the 80’s (1/72 Monogram B-52).

    Bloody hell. So many guides for Mr mark softer have it dabbed off within seconds to leave the clear layer visible and a clear decal...this looks painted on now!

    Hey there, best tutorial on Mr. Softer up right now. Thank you for doing this. Question: i noticed the blue Mr. Setter in the video. Did you apply that before placing the decal, or use it at all in the process?

    What also works for me with mark softer is to apply a coat and use a moist cotton ear cleaner bud to roll it over almost immediately, repeat this a several times carefully and it shall be okay. Also when it comes to rivets I use an old needle from a broken airbrush that I don't use anymore to poke them out carefully.

    I've tried pretty much every decal setting solution in available in the UK. Appart from miro sol they all bead up.

    Very nice video but the softner and setter seemed to have stained the surface of the paint, is that easily washed off?

      I wondered if a damp cloth or varnish will get rid of it. Good eye though.

    Great job for the US insignia roundels. Thanks for your Clear tutorial.
    Will you polish a little bit the roundels decals with very fine grit Sanding sponge or sandpaper once the markings dried?

    • @genessismodels
      @genessismodels  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      not something I have eva done mate, allways been fine with decal solutions

    Does the staining around the dried decal wash off or will a clear cost hide them?

    • @genessismodels
      @genessismodels  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      after the gloss cost it totally goes away

      @@genessismodels Would the same apply if a matt coat applied? I've never used and decal setting solutions but have just purchased Micro Sol setter and softner but hesitant to use as don't want any staining or silvering left especially on matt finishes! Good tutorial 👌

    I’m a complete newb to decal solutions and flow improver. I have noticed the issue with both mark softer and setter. This flow improver, do I need to dilute before adding to the Mr. pots or straight in?
    Also, how much should I add to a new pot? What’s the ratio that has worked for you?
    Thanks, great video!

      A ml at a time until a certain look, got it…. I missed that part. 😂. Disregard. Great video.

    Water is all you need and press firmly. These 'special' solutions are a moneymaking con.
