    Hey RGL, I found this video super interesting however I am in Australia, would you still recommend the comc route? Logistically I don’t know if I would be able to see a significant ROI if I had to ship cards back and forth from the states to Australia. I’m not sure or aware if there is a similar platform here for me other than eBay but it would appear the appeal in comc is this virtual bank and storage system that allows you to buy and sell. I’d like to know your thoughts if you have the time to share.

    Great video. I am thinking of dipping my toe into the COMC store. Do taxes (W9) as income not come into play until someone cashes out?

    • @RunGoodLife
      @RunGoodLife  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Correct. Everything done on the site is considered "like-kind" trading until you cash out. Similar tax situation to how you don't get taxed on the trade in portion when buying a new vehicle.

  • @supremesportscards

  • @adamgpichette

    How does ComC handle sales for income tax for their sellers? Specifically, at what point do they trigger a 1099, assuming it’s triggered by the same threshold as all others ($600), but with cash out requests only (since your store credit is technically a ComC entity you pay sales tax on to obtain). Just wanted to know, have never seen a clear explanation of how to plan that piece.
    Thanks and absolutely love the ComC content!!

    • @RunGoodLife
      @RunGoodLife  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I don't know if anything has changed since I left in 2020 (because I never cash out), but in the past it was 100% on you to report your own sales. I have to imagine they would do a 1099 now with the new payment laws.
      If you never cash out, you never receive documentation, because selling on the website is seen as 'like-kind' trading. So for example, if you sell 600 cards for $2000 total, and buy a $2000 slab and then sell it locally for cash, there is no paper trail for them to report.

    • @adamgpichette
      @adamgpichette ปีที่แล้ว

      @@RunGoodLife ah yes of course, cash tells no tales lol
      That is how I always saw ComC, just a marketplace/exchange and not an income engine (until the cash out process)
      And yeah it’s probably PayPal that’d report it if in excess of $600, with whatever other transactions are coming in.
      Cool, thanks!

    Really like the idea of being able to submit 100-500 2-3 dollar cards and build up to buy/flip bigger cards.
    My question is, since I'm not very familiar with COMC, when you want to "buy" a card, is there a way to add it to your sell inventory immediately? As opposed to having it shipped

    • @RunGoodLife
      @RunGoodLife  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes, you need to be logged into an account, and purchase it with store credit.

    • @MarioLuigi-vb3rp
      @MarioLuigi-vb3rp ปีที่แล้ว

      It’s not that easy. I’ve submitted thiusands of five dollar cards and no sales. They started selling at fifty cents. Comc is where you send cards to sell for fifty cents no matter the value. I buy cards on comc for fifty cents send them to myself and sell on my eBay store for 5 10 20 dollars. I bought Grier rookie autos on comc for ten dollars and sold them for a hundred each on my eBay. Comc is trash to sell on.

      You can comfortably price out about 200-300 cards per hour. Sometimes more.
      In terms of finding cards to flip, I have COMC up in a third monitor. If I'm working on my PC, I have COMC open, refreshing in it's own monitor. Every half a minute or so I glance up at the new cards, if there's something I like, I buy it.
      I would estimate, I spend *maybe* 6-8 hours a week on COMC.

      Do you just take photos and make a listing like a personal ebay listing or do you send comc all the cards and you put price tags on them and the do the listing , pics , etc ? I have a lot of base hall of famers in basketball that are probably in that $2 -$10 range. Would these be good to list through comc . One of my favorite videos RGL

    • @RunGoodLife
      @RunGoodLife  ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Those tutorials are already on the channel. Nobody who buys and resells cards in this industry will ever show you all their math. I tell the world everything because even if I tell you what types of cards to flip, it takes years/decades of experience to really get a feel for the value of cards you don’t see every day.
      You need to look at what’s being presented to you beyond the surface level. I just showed you flips on cards you’ve never thought about flipping. Observe those cards, remember those cards, and try to flip some similar cards.
      The amount of info presented in my comc videos is something I could easily charge for if I was that kind of creator. Your takeaway from this video was too surface level
