Amazing video and information, thank you for sharing! In your video you mention the tote does not have solid brass hardware on the Kisslock portion. What would you use to clean this hardware? I am assuming Brasso would be a “no-no”? Thank you for your time! ❤
Depends on what you are trying to accomplish. Because it is a coating, anything abrasive will remove more of that. There can be rust on the base metal however which I personally would like to clean up and for this I use barkeepers friend. Otherwise, just clean and buff with a microfiber towel;)
@birdybloom2 I am a new subscriber and love your videos! I recently bought a vintage Coach XL feed bucket bag, from Ebay. The bag is from the 70’s and in great condition considering. My question is… When I open the bag in a well lit room, I can see the light through the side stitching of both the sides of the bag. No stitching is loose or shows signs of coming undone. Is this normal for the style of bag and age of the bag? I definitely was wanting to avoid dunking the bag in the sink with water in terms of cleaning it because I fear damaging the bag?
Well I’ve never tested this out but I can totally see it being possible 😂 Does your bag need cleaning? How do you know it is from the 70’s? Can you share your bag and a creed/metal tag/cartouche pic with me at birdybloom_rehab@yahoo.com and I can advise you from there. I typically do not recommend submerging duffle sacs in water as they are big bags with a lot of thick leather. They are also easy to turn inside out so as to be able to clean the inside really well without submerging.
Also, what is with the duffle Sac craze recently? They look like they are selling like crazy right now. Did someone on some platform talk about them recently? One of my personal favorite cold weather styles!
