For the Future

Hebrews 10:5-10, Luke 1:39-55
Mary’s song of praise paints a beautiful and subversive picture of the future kingdom of God. Her words are filled with hope and passion. Her hope is almost certainty. This is precisely what God is doing through Jesus and Mary knows. The question is, do you? Can you imagine a world like Mary sings about? If you can imagine it, what is to stop us from making it happen? Maybe our hope isn’t sincere enough or fear is too strong. Yes, we can’t bring about the kingdom of God, but God invites us into that work with God which means it is possible.
