Yeah the 90s was awesome and was so chilled so laid back and was so much better. There also was no smart phones and no social media back in the 90s. Smart phones and social media have ruined life.
@@emilyanndmoore When I said social media I'm referring to facebook twitter and instagram. Not youtube. Yes I know youtube is social media but it's a different type of social media to facebook twitter and instagram.
I watched this as a kid (in 1990 i was 12) and, to this day, it is seared into my memory. I'm going to sit down and watch it again as a matter of fact.
@Jacob Wilkes Oh yeah definitely, there would be things I need to be switched around and also there are certain things that happened in this film that simply is impossible today specifically tracing people back with their license plates through the DMV. That particular plot point wouldn't happen today due to Schaefer's law. Also you could switch around the phone calls with social media messaging.
I completely agree. I could see this girl being a "catfish" and falling for the absolutely wrong one. The killer has to be just as dashing and handsome as D.W. Moffett though.
@@pryncecharming2133 yeah just changed the license plate plot point with modernize doxxing and we've got a winner. And there are plenty of actors nowadays that could pull the same charm DW Moffett did while still showing some intensity. This movie came out in 1988 I miss the 80s when things were simple and alot young girls talked to older guys it was like chat room only with phones. Lisa was only flirting but she was flirting with death. DW Moffett played a great killer in this. He was also in Thirteen, Tales From The Crypt (TV)mini-series. I haven't seen much of him in anything. The actress who played Lisa was in a TV Show back in the 80s called My Two Dads! Stacy Kennan was her name. Cheryl Ladd looked so pretty here but she got botox and surgery on her face and looks ugly now she was in Poison Ivy with Drew Berrymore.
Back on the 90s/00s me, and my friends use to prank call people, my friends would encourage me to do it with them (I knew it was wrong but you know Peer Pressure), I'll admit it was our Teenage Dirtbag years, but I'll admit in 2023, if I was a Mom I definitely wouldn't want my Daughter/Son doing this, it's so much Technology, GPS, and sadly so many Teenage Girls being kidnapped, and, or killed doing this stuff.
I just watched this movie and searchd the internet for this phase. She says it to rick but her mum says it to her. Ive never heard it before so it confused me.
If this movie took place today, the movie would have been over sooner because every phone has caller ID now. He could easily look up the address for the phone number on the internet.
When I watched this movie years ago I was shocked, and watching it today I'm still shocked, but in some situations I think it's like "meh!!!" But it's still a good movie to watch. What sticks with me is how much I thought D.W. Moffett was handsome before and today watching the movie I think he's handsome, charming and attractive, a man I like to watch for hours and his voice is super nice to hear.
This movie I have on DVD and now its on Amazon.com prime and I have this movie on DVD this movie was made in the late 80s which was so simple back then now everything sucks now in 2020. Especially in COVID-19 and this virus isn't going anywhere.
The trailer really didn't do the movie justice..imho. At the heart of the movie was the mother/daughter relationship where the mom tries to prevent her daughter from making the same mistakes as she did.. and the daughter wanting to grow up faster then she should. And also the interesting cat and mouse between Lisa and the candle light killer where at first she's the one pursuing him with him feeling at a loss because he's the one not in control.
Couldn’t agree more. Also how Lisa kinda hates her mom but deep down jealous of her, dressing in her clothes and pretending to talk like her, this movie did a lot without even knowing it I feel like.
This scared the crap out of me at 13 years old or whenever I saw it. I didn't see it when it was in the movie theater, just on tv. Remember 07734 on a beeper said hello when read upside down.

The D in D.W. means Don.....Don Warren Moffet aka Richard.......and there is a character in this movie at the bowling place named Don..and Don sort of sounds like Richard a little!
So basically those two went their separate ways soon afterwards. Richard went on to become a landowner in the Caribbean who made a mistake by giving a woman a potion that killed her and then made her never stop loving him despite her being physically dead while still walking around, and Lisa went on to live with step siblings while constantly being mean that a guy named Cody.
