This monitor is an interesting piece of tech, but does it have any fans that can be loud in a quiet room? I had to send back that famous Alienware ultrawide OLED, because of that loud fan noise.

It's more like 27" 1080p than 27" 1440p, it's horrible when you compare around 85 ppi to 110 ppi. The image 85 ppi is noticeably blurrier and sometimes individual pixels are visible.
Yes, it's immersive. I own 1000R myself and it's very good and I can imagine that 800R is even more immersive than 1000R but 85 ppi, no. I'd prefer 110 ppi for games and work.

    • @socialreport2836
      @socialreport2836 ปีที่แล้ว +1

@@poglifeactual7936 32" is better to use at 4K (1440p isn't good enough, but 1080p is absolutely horrible). There are a lot of 1440p monitors available, so comparing them is necessary. It's not fine to play using 1080p when compared to 1440p. If we compare 1440p (110ppi) to 4K, it would be fine, but comparing 1080p to 1440p, it isn't. 110ppi is on another level.

Question regarding the HDMI 2.1 ports, do you know if they are the full 48Gbps? I want to connect my 4090 using the HDMI 2.1 to get 10-bit 240Hz if possible.

I have a Samsung 34" Ultrawide and I can confirm that it does feel a bit small and narrow. Although having said that, I was helping my mate out who has a 24" 1080P Dell monitor from the mid 2000s and this is a lot better than that. I'm running a rtx 3070 and I'm looking to go a bit wider with a 38" 3880x1440P as I'm told they feel a bit more immersive and have a better curve than this one(1800R).

i am on a 32" 4k@160hz ips monitor and as much as i want to have an oled gaming monitor i am afraid of going back in resolution.
before i had this 32" i had a 27" 4k ips gaming monitor that replaced a 27" 1440p gaming monitor, and already back then the 27" 1440p ips monitor started to look blurry to me compared to the 4k oled TV i had at that time.
So now being used to 32" 4k i am really afraid to think that 1440p is just not good enough (anymore).
however, 32" 4k oled gaming monitors will probably still take 1-2 years to arrive.

Does this monitor have more glossy or matte anti glare coating. Still witing for oled with matte display coating, even if colors will be less vivid oled will deliver rich colors anyway imho.

ASUS rog Swift Pg42uq. I have been looking at this and it's ticking a few boxes. It does have an anti glare coating.

How is scaling within MacOs with this monitor? Can you chose retina resolution?

  • @SupplyNinja

The pixel density is a complete deal breaker if youre used to 4k and/or retina 5k monitors. Its just not cutting it. Ill wait for a 4k OLED monitor next year.

if you can afford 4K OLED go for it, as a student that just isn’t in the cards for me atm so I have to take what I can get

@@r4plez Monitor is a up to 240hz refresh rate, not 240 fps. You can have as much fps on any monitor you want. It is not hard at all to have more than 60 fps at 4K.
This screen literally have the same PPI as a 27" full hd screen from the last centurty. And it is even close to the same as a 55" 4K tv set, that most use from several feet away.
The specs of this screen is about the worst i have seen in a long time.

Doesnt this have burn in since its OLED? I would assume games would be awful for burn in as User Interface etc is constant and will burn in quicker.
