      @@Hard_Right No, campaign is exactly what he meant. Not that you would understand, but that game had 2 discs. An arcade mode where you pop it in to have fun racing friends/test driving cars, etc. But the second disc was Simulation mode where you had an entire racing career to work through-everything from obtaining licenses, to unlocking cars, and events. And if you think that’s nerdy, GT4 (a sequel on PS2) had ACTUAL 24 hour endurance races, including the famous LeMans.

    The fun thing is that this Venturi had a V6 based on the SAME PRV engine as can be found in the DeLorean DMC but also the Renault Alpine A310 and the later Alpine GTA, GT turbo and A610.
    This PRV engine got a bad reputation when it first was introduced in the Volvo 260 and Peugeot 604. But it was greatly improved and later it was even the basis for the engine in very succesful touring racecar: the Alfa Romeo 155Ti ! Obviously the engine was very much modified but the shortblock was still a PRV.

    • @kristofferjonassen4761
      @kristofferjonassen4761 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah the first gen PRV got a bad reputation because it wasn't as strong as the second gen PRV and the weird odd fire it had which I personally think sounds awesome, but the first gen can honestly have a lot of power with very little effort done to it, if you take a PRV B28E that we got here in Europe and America and make a turbo kit on it, with a tiny T3 turbo and 0,5 bar of boost you can easily have around 210hp, which is pretty impressive considering the B28E only had 130-147hp

    I don't think Venturi I that slept on. Most people who love hypercars/racecars know about the cars and what they made. I think the reason they aren't that expensive is because they weren't as successful as he makes out. They had horrible driving characteristics and you can't exactly get spare parts for either. A lot of people have looked into these cars and that's an overwhelming complaint. The NSX really killed these because It was more luxury for about the same price and with Hondas reliability. So a car you had to buy, import and worry about if it broke, wasn't a great selling point

    If you dont have straight cut gears i would never not use the clutch. If you want to bang gears like your saying a sequential is ideal.

    • @stuartd9741
      @stuartd9741 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Although I agree.
      I can change gear in my car clutch less without Crunching the gears - up and down the box.
      It takes practice, hard going on the Synchromesh's.
      will eventually prematurely wear them out - hence a gearbox rebuild.

    • @DjDolHaus86
      @DjDolHaus86 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@vfr492 A dog box transmission has what are known as dogs (big metal lugs) instead of a synchromesh (cone shaped clutch) on the engagement surface of the gears like you'd find in a normal road car. These big metal lugs allow a much more direct and positive engagement of the gear which doesn't necessarily require a clutch and they can handle a lot more abuse, the downside of this design is that gear changes can be a bit harsh in everyday use and they increase the chance of driveline/engine damage if you select too low of a gear for rpm/wheel speed.
      A dog leg transmission simply means that first gear is down/left and 2nd/3rd are vertically opposite, the basic idea being that on a circuit you go between 2nd3rd a lot more regularly than 1st/2nd so it is more efficient to put them on the same gate.

    I've been a fan of these since the PS2 Gran Turismo days as well. But it's French, so of course there are caveats . It has a turbo PRV as many point out, but IIRC (don't have time to go digging around search engines at the moment, so correct me if I'm wrong) it also has the same weak point that afflicted the V8 turbo Esprits: the Renault gearbox. For a small turbo 4-banger (Renault R5 Turbo and the turbo-4 Esprits) it isn't so bad, but the torque of a turbo V8 or turbo V6 tends to make it a bit... delicate.

      @@AnarchistMetalhead Dude, you are my hero. I am, in fact, far more of a Mopar guy than an LS guy, and I had completely not even made the Fiat connection to Ferrari. And I've even considered doing a late model hemi swap into a very crappy little tiny Fiat I've been trying to buy off a guy for a couple of years for just that connection. Sort of the Shelby Cobra style "American V8 into a European Sports Car" thing, though there would be a fair bit more work involved, as I suspect the only *truly* useful parts of that Fiat for the project would be the sheet metal, and being 6'5", I think I might have to do a bit of a "widebody" conversion, and possibly stretch the wheelbase a bit. Depends on if I can get the driver's seat back far enough without that, I suppose.
      Your suggestion is absolute perfection. :D
      Well, that settles it. Time to start looking in barns... :D

      @@randominternetuser2888 Sorry pall.. rattarosa has an ferrari testarossa, he not own any F40 not even mention the ultra rare LM spec.. yea, he plan to buy an F40 but since the prices are too the roof lately specially for ferrari so he now sourced a F40 body-kit and he plans to rebuild it just like gas-monkey-garage F40..

    So why is this guy here? Just to talk about Gran Turismo? Is this really what you envisioned for this channel Ed? Because this guy and this story is just bad bad bad. He is full of it about his weakest one making 400 at the treads especually when he states the torque figure and blows his story out of the window, anyone who sees chassis dynos regularly will know exactly what i mean
