That was so fun to watch the moon go through its cycle during just one night. As someone rather obsessed with lunar rhythms, I do have to point out that west-to-east IS the regular motion of the moon. Because the Earth turns, we see it move from east to west, but against the backdrop of the stars, from night to night, the moon and other celestial bodies move west to east. Retrograde motion is when they move in the opposite direction: east to west. Cheers!
