Guidance was a scrubber for me. I couldn’t handle a little drop on my arm. I really don’t understand why such a beast mode perfumes almost always comes only in 100 ml bottles. People right now have crazy huge collection of perfumes I just don’t understand when and how they going through all those bottles? I wish all those perfumes houses make more reasonable sizes of their perfumes.
So interesting. So my original decant of this perfume received zero compliments but I really liked the fragrance myself so bought a fb. After buying the FB I can't wear this without someone asking what I'm wearing and it's literally 1 spray. I don't really like the attention tbh but I'm happy it smells nice 😅. I do layer this often as well and usually 1 spray of this is more than enough. So I tend to spray this on the middle of my arms, that's it. I'm wondering now if my decant was off. It's definitely not for everyone but most Amouage is this way from what I've seen. I totally understand your review. ❤
@@thehonestperfumereviewer6336 Amouage is one of my favorite houses , but many of the fragrances are challenging. They can take a bit of time to unravel and understand. Not everyone wants to put that kind of time and energy into a fragrance, and there's absolutely nothing wrong with that.
Just bought a decant and am sooo in love with the nutty creamy drydown... what worries me is that I heard these perfumes have been watered down... so to pay like $300 for a watered down perfume, it's too big a risk. I love how you communicate btw!
I love how varied the reviews and description of this are. I've been working away on this. First try I actively disliked it. Second try I liked it better but found it had a je ne sais pas quoi note that irritated me, almost nauseating. I had the blotter sitting my bed and I could smell it for days and had to throw it out....BUT then I ordered a decant and tried again and now I love it. To me it smells like the hot wood of a sauna in the best, most comforting way. Addictive. Bracing myself to drop $600 dollarydoos on a FB.
So interesting! Thank you for commenting. I still have a decant of Guidance, but last time I wore it I just couldn't deal with it. It was just everywhere. Too much for me. But there is something spectacular about it too. Mixed feelings here.
This fragrance was so challenging for me. I tried but it was a big No! And by accident I bought 2 decants…ugh… so far the entire house has not worked for me…😮
I was searching a fragrance for my mother as i know she likes Amouages. I tried jubilationxxv for woman,Dia etc but Guidance was nothing challenging compered to them. It's such a beautiful fragrance that in a way portrays my mom and i immediately kind of felt a connection. And definitely not scanky or something 🤷♂️
Would love if my mom was into Amouage and niche perfume! Mine wears Eternity and it is very boring. She thinks every single fragrance of mine is SUPER strong.
I smelled Guidance on strip a couple of weeks ago. I found it nice but, as I tend to stay away from fragrances with Akigalawood, my interest did not go any further.
@@thehonestperfumereviewer6336 Akigalawood tends to make fragrances pretty intense and it is quite difficult to rid of it on your clothes. Additionally I am not a fan of beast mode fragrances. I wear fragrances mainly for myself, so I do not like it when fragrances fill the room.
I think a nicer alternative to this is La belle Helene by MDCI. Similar pear note (same material used to create that effect) but done in more elegant taste for me. Have you tried it? :)
I was never really interested in the fruity part, but was ok with it. It is the strength of this fragrance that seems so un-natural to me somehow. Am having difficuly describing my resistance to wearing it. Have tried Le Belle Helene sometime, but can't remember it. We have a shop here in Stockholm that carries that brand.
I wish I had that problem. I just purchased a new bottle of Amouage Material. It is substantially watered down and it short-lasting compared to the original bottle I purchased two months ago. It came in the same box you are showing, which it the latest format. Did yours come with a holographic seal on the cellophane plastic when you first opened your box?
I have a sample of this and that is all I want....do not like it. Could be the pear? I like peach scents so thought the pear I would as well but not so. Love Amouage Overture but can't bring myself to buy a full bottle of that yet either.....sample lasts me a long time. Scent is addictive and beast mode......don't know if I would ever get thru a full bottle of it. :)
I have Overture Woman and I don't think I will ever use it up. Either I will sell the bottle or keep swapping decants with it. It is a little hard to get ahold of, you never see that one at the discounters.
I thought this fragrance smelled nice but it didn’t wow me. It’s not an Amouage. It’s not complex or interesting. And the sandalwood in it had a touch of scratchiness too my nose. Not worth nearly 400$.
It smells like bad body odour to me, the dry down is awful and amplifies the BO smell. I've sampled it many times, I hate it. The worst fragrance I've used in a long time!
Nope the Sultan of Oman is an absolute monarch and has complete authority over everything, definitely not like Sweden. Thought I'd just correct you there :)
I have the same sort of love hate relationship to Guidance as I have to one of Bisch's other creations, Hibiscus Mahajàd... They are both intoxicating and interesting och one hand and too much on the other...
Agree! All those from Maison Crivelli that are extraits are challenging. There is something disturbing in them, yet they are intriguing. I would never buy before sampling several times.
@@thehonestperfumereviewer6336 I am afraid I’ll fall in love and I am avoiding doing that with such premium prices fragrances. I have two u still want to bring in, both are at that ridiculous price point

I wasn't going to spend the money on it but after 3 $50 plus Decants of it, it just didn't make any sense for me not to buy a full bottle😅. It's so unique for me I've never smelt anything like it. Every time I would finish a decant the scent would linger in my home for weeks and it captured me🫠 I just couldn't get away from it and I would buy another Decant Until I just had to buy a bottle. Funny I had never smell the woman's private part Smell that I had heard people talk about but when I sprayed my First spray from the bottle I did get that and then as the fragrance warmed up on my skin it went away😮

Don't get sour. Pungent I can totally understand. It just sort of cut through everything. Filled the house. Spread all over the place. It was impossible to wear the right dose.

This is my wish too
Totally agree! I never want another 100 ml-bottle.
agreed! I love that Frederic Malle does 10mls, that's all I need to enjoy them when the right mood strikes. A lot of niche are so mood specific.
I love peach, apricot, osmanthus so I cant wait to try the dupe- on its way.

At least you didn't buy a whole bottle. People are screaming for decants over here. Not many people have the bottle, I guess because of the price.

WTF they recently released that, and do nasty act? Shame on them, i was planning to buy but now I'm doubt 😢
I didn’t like Guidance either. It smelled like BO on me. I do love Honor Woman and Love Tuberose from the house.
Really! Don't get that, but had other problems with it. Glad to have it out of the house!

It was very easy to sell😄
What a shame. They seem to be watering down their older perfumes and the newer ones sounds like sledgehammer scents. No longer a house for me.
They haven't watered down anything.
And even if they water down they are still stronger than 90%of fragrances out there.
You’re entitled to your opinion and experiences. I’m entitled to mine. The classics have been watered down from my experience.
Smells a little bit like a resin of frankincense and myrrh.
Stick to European fragrances. Horses for courses !
