I don't know if you will see this but if you do please reply if you know - when using POD through tiktok shop you need capital to start as tiktok doesn't pay you until 15 days after the order has been delivered, I was going to use this route but don't have capital avaliable to start - if I use the shopify and tiktok shop integration from shopify itself does this (the issue of the payments) change or remain the same? How do you feel the product sales compare in the Tik Tok store vs Etsy? I am just getting started and deciding which one I want to try first. Thanks a bunch!
I have been on Etsy for years so I do have much more experience with that marketplace but overall with TikTok, the potential to sell a lot is very impressive due to the shoppable videos and collaborations with content creators. It is definitely an advantage and could be more of an opportunity at the moment to scale quickly on TikTok because it’s not as widely available to sell on as Etsy is. I think it will only get better from here too I’d say create an account on both and see which suits you best and go from there!
This may vary from person to person or business to business, really, but I want to set up my TikTok shop, but I'm stuck on the business type part. For example, if you have multiple shops on Etsy and want to transition to having those same shops in TikTok, are you creating sole proprietorships for all of those and applying for EINs for every single one? These kinds of things always get me stuck and scared to move forward.
It depends on your country / state but for the US, if you aren't making more than $600/year, you don't have to even report it for taxes. It's labeled under "miscellaneous royalties" ... EINs would be if you have employees! I would just start and see if you make a profit, and then if you do, from there, go get a business license. You can talk to a tax pro and they can recommend the EIN thing if you want to label yourself as the employee which helps with liability stuff, but at that rate, again, ask a pro!

One question, for returns, I've added the returns disclaimer in my product description but I noticed that TikTok shop has "free returns" posted once the product goes live. Is that just something we have to leave there or can you remove "free returns" from your product page somehow? Tysm!

So many shops have the same type of description for products like they do on Etsy, including processing/shipping times, and return policies. But why is it even necessary to add in TikTok if TikTok doesn’t allow returns and you have to have a 2 day turnaround?? Also, how do you promote your products in TikTok with video?

You could sell handmade products ! You would just have to follow the shipping rules & regulations and keep your own inventory or have a fulfillment center do it for you. I personally have not done that though so I’m not the best person to give advice to you on it!

Printify offers white label products to do that! Meaning products that you design the labels for. It fully lists the ingredients for you to share with your customers. I took a look and some of the products look very cool.

I don’t use an app! I honestly scroll on TikTok shop and see what’s selling..: it’s not the best method but that’s what I have been doing! As more tools come out to help with this, I will be sure to update it on my videos :)

Hi! You have to make sure to only choose products from the “TikTok ready” category on Printify and be sure your shipping & return policies are correctly listed in accordance with TikTok’s guidelines! You can find the exact information on your TikTok shop seller account and on Printifys website! I haven’t had an issue getting my shop shut down but I have been extremely careful! I am sure every product I list has a faster production time and that I don’t have “order rerouting” on

Etsy is definitely a bit easier to navigate as a beginner but they’re both great opportunities to reach buyers organically without ads and prior experience

Another TH-camr said that you can get an EIN (if American) and use that instead of your social security number. I haven't done this yet, but am thinking about it after I get my first TikTok Shop running. I have two completely different niches I want to target. I have been thinking about starting a TTS for months, but was finally inspired to actually do it by Money With Mok's video on TT shops a few weeks or so ago.

You can do both! But I would create a new TikTok account that will be linked to your TikTok shop seller account. This way you can separate your products content from your personal affiliate content. You could combine it but personally, I would do it separately bc you can only link one account
I should have added that when I linked a TikTok account to the TikTok Shop Seller Center somewhere there was a notice that I wouldn't be able to use the account for promoting affiliate products. This was on an account without any followers. I don't know if it would be different if the account had 5,000 followers or not.

Easy! Make a video of the product and post it! Post photos of it on mockups in carousel posts

You can use a credit card. There will always be a delay in payment selling this way. Its a real issue to consider and thats rarely talked about.

We have to put money up front to fulfill orders before the money is released from TikTok correct?
Only if you make a sale! You will have to pay the print provider for the product to be shipped but you will still be making a profit
