One thing I learned when I was becoming a mechanic, ALWAYS DOUBLE CHECK YOUR WORK! So you can, 1: know everything is tight and correct, 2: find anything that's was missed. 3: so it makes it a little easier to find the issue. But we are all only human, and mistakes are always gonna happen. But double checking helps eliminate those mistakes b4 to take it out for a rip! Make your list and check them twice and you will see why I say this. In my business of doing exhaust its a must. Good luck guys!
Hey Rob Dahm was having the same problem with the 4Rotor AWD. He changed his intercooler setup and found 250hspr!! Check out his vid! It’s instructive!
Seeing Laz come out of his shell on the channel is really awesome to see. He's usually far more reserved, but the last two or three episodes he's been bringing the knowledge. And he did his own clip? Even better!
100% for the 2nd channel. Been wanting to learn to tune and even though I'll be tuning 2v 4.6s the hp tuners software will be the same so itll still translate nicely
I would definitely be down for a second nerdy channel! Hahahahaha. Honestly one of my favourite things about your channel as well as PFIspeed is that you guys get real in depth with the logic behind why you build cars certain ways, and why each change is made while tuning! For someone like myself, building a custom supercharged project, with love for the engineering and electronic side of things its the perfect mix of badassery and tech 😅 keep it up!!
The tool Laz is talking about for marking hole center points is called a Transfer screw. Transfer screws thread into a threaded hole and provide a center punch, whereas transfer punches are designed to go through through holes. Both are key tools for doing simple layout work.
You guys need to fab up some sheet metal and get rid of all the duct tape everywhere it makes it look like a hack job but in reality its a certified ripper
If people don't understand stand what it takes to tune then they don't fully understand the work/time you fellas put in to do the things you do. Keep the nerdy going!
YES YES YES ? a second nerdy channel , I'm in to it . Try to convince Brent to do the same on his side , as you're both tuning totaly different engines . Keep going , great job Jeremy . Greetings from Belgium , Vince .
I think George needs a pay raise, not only is he a good worker but he gives so much life to this channel, love seeing George in videos, he is a proper Florida Man in a Florida car Channel.
For Kater's rooftop scoop use the center section (turned in reverse) of a 2005-2009 Ford Mustang 3" Cowl Induction Fiberglass Heat Extractor Hood. Here is a link to what it looks like.... (Since it is fiberglass. Once you trim it, you can finish forming it to however you want to make it work.) www.octanemotorsports.com/2005-2009-ford-mustang-3-cowl-induction-fiberglass-heat-extractor-hood-p-8269.html?gclid=Cj0KCQjwlN32BRCCARIsADZ-J4tnnoQ32jPxqcysh14HUrnqaGuUtt7ITvqV81SLYC9jFM_oRcPSW9MaAhsOEALw_wcB
Jermy what u need 2 do on the Kater Tot 2 do is take the circle floor fan u had on the toolbox is build a bar 2 weld the fan 2 so it cools the motor down while yas drive it and put another battery in the car and wire it 2 the battery with a toggle swich 2 turn it on and off instead of using those 4 little fans u got over the motor the circle floor fan with a car battery will spin more air down on the motor
In the electrical trade we call that a "Whisker" like 1 strand sticking out of a wire nut. At 12 volts no problem, at 277 volts and it's grounded it will usually clear it self, as in vaporize it self if you working on it and "your grounded" and happen to touch it, it will knock you off your ladder.
I for one would 100% definitely watch your more in-depth videos. I'm all about learning hp tuners from a seasoned pro. The more I try to learn this dark art of tuning, the more I respect you for what you do. Could even call the other channel "Father Timing" lol. I also really have my hopes high for winning that mpvi2. Fingers crossed.
Intermittent issues are always hard to fix, but looks like your kick ass team came through once again. As you know intercoolers are very restrictive and would make perfect sense if it was not rated for the projected power numbers. Would kind of line up with all the weird issues that were going on too. Looking forward to uncle Sam!!
Crimp connectors are your issue Remove the Crimp but connectors and Solder and heat shrink those connections where you can they are prone to lose connection !!! Like the Song Choice my Birthday is the 4th of July ... Wont be long hopefully i will be on Vacation to Florida, God Bless you and Family!!
Please do the second channel. Some of us tune our sloppy builds ourself! Tips and tricks always help. And honestly when I go turbo this winter I’ll be emailing you because forced induction is beyond my skill. Keep it up
My comment was in writing you had a strand of wire contacting. You guys should invest in some ferrules for your electrical wire ends. Cleans up the strands to reduce grounding issues. Good eye George.
2 cracked circuit boards in two different tps's within two weeks of each other for my Allison 6-speed TCM on my mechanically injected diesel. And the problem was intermittent hit a bump it says 100% tps hit the right bump or un plug it, plug it in, and pull back 1/4-5/16 out fixed ,for a little bit. first TPS lasted over a year second TPS only last for a week. We are on week 3 now for number 3. Crack boards inside of sealed components that's a real head scratcher to find in troubleshooting
It def. Needs a larger front mount, just be careful, it will throw your tune way off, but, after you remap the tune, the throttle response is going to be amazing!!!
Actually in todays light the Miata does look sweet!! I still say George needs his own channel and let him build something off the wall. The channel is getting more interesting. Thanks for all the work fellas.
Transfer punch...is what those are. (Lazz's lost footage) Basically a set screw with the internal hex one end, and an external hex and a sharp point on the other. The case/holder IS the install/removal tool. A few different lengths for each...all SAE/ISO-Metric pitches, bitches. Really makes prototype or one off sh...tuff noice'n easy. J's tech tip: ALWAYS (sans helicoils or other thread inserts): Minor dia. (hole size b-4 threadsok) = Major dia. (Largest dia.) - pitch (threads per in./distance from tip to tip). Ex. Tap me, or...a-hole(😉) for a spark plug M14 x 1.25. 14 - 1.25 =12.75!! I use .03937 to convert, 25.4 will suffice as well...yur call. .5019 hole. VÍOLÁ!!
Dude, a channel where you even walk people step by step from the basics of tuning (right from "AH WANNA TUNE KARZ HOW DO AH DO EET?") might make you a lot of money. I'd for sure sub to your channel on tuning.
It's funny, bc I kept saying the Miata looks like a Viper in your videos. :) Also, I watched an old Engineering Explained video today (just type in e85 on their page) and he goes into details showing that meth wears motors more quickly. Thought that was interesting and was thinking how you guys love using it.
I’d love a second channel with nerdy stuff. I wouldn’t expect as many subscribers there though, since not many people tune their own stuff, relatively. It would be awesome though and potentially a great resource.
Intercooler sounds just about right had the same problem on my Audi I had a 800 $ intercooler ratted for 400 whp with a gt2871r I upgraded to a gtx3586r and didn't make that much more power for the size of turbo and intake temps where a little high so I put a boost gauge before the intercooler and one in the intake I was pushing 35 psi at the intake and over 50 before the intercooler bought a cheap 150$ eBay special ratted for 1200hp made 800whp at 42psi the next day on the dyno turbo spooled up lot quicker and exhaust manifold back pressure was lower too
I would like a tuning specific channel. You guys have so much content. I'm new to tuning I have the hptuners mpvi2. Thinking about using an ls computer to control a 4.6 cvpi with a turbo.
I have been with you since day one big big fan and I need hptuner for my 2.0 turbo cobalt built and I'm on a budget it would help and I could tune my 99 gmc sierra 5.3 that I have started doing some stuff too. Keep up the good work on the channel. Can't wait to see this civart( civic+ smart )
Look at richard holdeners videos on intakes when using meth injection, might be on engine masters might be on his youtube, some intakes really just dont work wet.

Yes to the second channel! I would really love to learn the tuning side of things!
Especially more about the finer details of what makes good tunes!
Yes! I love technical and tuning type videos, would be awesome if ya had another channel. 👍👍
Yes to the nerdy stuff!!!!! If it’s on a second channel I’d follow it for sure. #talknerdytome
Somebody needs to clip Jeremy saying "cuz I'm on speed right now" for the soundboard.

Ps sorry for my english
You're English sounds great to me brother
Your English is perfect!
Watch this channel all time from P.R your English is better than my Spanish....lol

Excellent work. James continues to impress.
Yes start the new channel.. Love the tuning segments..👍👍
@Fasterproms No offense to Laz and the crew. I just want to clean up the wiring in the cabin.
Love the builds Jeremy. Keep up the great work.
James always knows the little things that help
I keep bolts with points in my box just for that. Helps so much when making brackets etc. Good tip.
Poor KaterTot has track performance anxiety! 🤣
too smart for her own good.
Got that K-tuned shifter box...nice👍
Probably a crank signal or something the engine needs to run.
Put some 205/40/17 in the front. Real low profile.
Got to love a smart car with a silly engine.
I think its time to give that smart car a moon tune lol

Yes the Miata looks like a mini viper. I've been thinking about that for weeks now since it's been back.
I would say keep it on this channel and work around your existing schedule, sprinkling some tuning vids as you go
My comment was in writing you had a strand of wire contacting. You guys should invest in some ferrules for your electrical wire ends. Cleans up the strands to reduce grounding issues.
Good eye George.
Electrical problems are easy to find when you have a carburetor...lol
but you do suffer from ineffecient fuel appliance and the issue of it not liking boost...
Laughs in the sound of carby engine bay electrical fire, yes the wiring was done by an auto electrician prior to the fire!
Mini O we don’t need boost since we build nasty n/a engines. while your spooling we already left with your girl lol.

Don't put the breather in the intake. Its going to dump oil vapor at rpm which lowers octane and leads to detonation and carbon on the valves.
I want to see the Turbo Crown Vic!!! PLEASE!!! LOL! I'm really curious what you need or needed to get it all figured out.
