I have done the same thing using a nail as a disc sander. Galvanized roofing nails fit a 1/8" collet, and phosphate coated drywall nails fit 3/32" collet. I hot-glue the sandpaper on. Works great! Subscribed :)
Awesome idea! I subscribed to your channel a while back I love the fact you come up with things easy for me to make for myself. I already have the parts to make the vacuum table top. I carve driftwood and concrete. Looking forward to more of your videos.
Hey, I'm a big fan of your videos and I love the fact that you share what you do with the world. I'm a huge skull and bone fanatic myself and I've started using maceration to clean some things after watching your video on the subject. It's working wonderfully for me, I love the level of detail it preserves. Is there a way to get rid of the odor after the clean bone is exposed though? I have a possum skeleton that's been out and dry for awhile now, I even boiled it once in oxi clean and it still has a fishy smell.
Hey Mason! That's great! Thanks for watching :) Yeah so there are a few reasons it could smell. Firstly I keep macerating the skull and changing the water till there is pretty much no trace of any smell of murky water. Now that's not always the case because the smell can often come from the grease that is in the bone depending on the condition of the skull. So de-greasing will help to get rid of the grease and in turn the smell. Also, soaking the skull in hydrogen peroxide will disinfect the skull and help again with any smells. Just wait till the skull is fully dyr after all that and it should be good. Let me know if anything else comes up I can help with! ~ Hunter

I am a gourd carver and I love your idea with the nail sander. It will work so well with my gourds. I also use skulls and horns with my gourd art.

I was a kid about five decades ago. Does that count? I do like your videos.
Haha sure does Kenneth :D Thanks for watching!
Hello! Thanks for the helpful videos! Do you happen to be filling unwanted holes and cracks with spackling compound and bone dust?
Yes, all you have to use is super glue and bone dust. Works like a charm. Thanks for watching!
Why not use a micro motor instead of a Dremel ? Seems as though it would be more maneuverable.
Great simple idea.
I'm retirement age.
