Dude, don’t listen to the haters, I tune into your channel because you are so open and relatable, I’ve had bad nights at the casino and can relate more to you than any other content creator, I have a small TH-cam channel as well reviewing and flying RC airplanes. The negative comments always come, but you can’t please everyone, no in your heart of hearts that you were doing really good and living my dream. Don’t let those holes get you down.
Hopefully you see this question… I’ve been playing online for years. I’m very net positive, but I’m a rec player so I see my profits as personal money and not a dedicated “bankroll.” So when I lose 5% of my bankroll in a week, it feels like a big mental and emotional loss. Any advice on how to handle it? Do I just keep powering through the variance? I don’t want to drop down in stakes (I play mostly 2/4 online right now). Love your videos. I watch every single one.

And you should know that the negative people are the ones that take time to go to the comment section. The positive viewer just thinks "Another good video. I hope the next one is tomorrow.".

Dangerous spot to only read positive comments and ignore the critical comments. You yourself admitted some of your play wasn't great - what do you expect to receive? You got a bunch of strong hands in this stream and still posted a loss - yet you wish you could run better? Your biggest problem is having no patience. You could have posted a profit in that session if you were more patient. You seem to be in a hurry to prove yourself at the highest level with the higher stakes - without taking the time to properly get your game and bankroll where it needs to be to do it properly. Also not the smartest move for your channel to openly tell your own community you won't be engaging with them anymore unless they have something positive to say. Surely you can ignore the trolls and engage with the constructive fans. Good luck either way.

That said, I have watched you for a while, and you started off as just an average guy playing poker, to being overly sensitive, and now someone who says they don't like negative comments, but you are the first to call other's nits, no action, Euro pros or making up a derogatory name. Spoiler, this is name calling and bullying... so you are just getting what you give.

On the Q55 hand would you have considered raising with KJ or 67? If yes then the raise was fine, you have some bluffs and it looks super strong. If not it's just a terrible play. Find bluffs.
Great advice on the hand tbh. This is a spot some bluffs can exist, and its important to always be on the lookout for scenarios such as this that a raise would be super nutted and then consider what bluffs you might have in the spot. Although I think given the formation I'd just peel another street OTB. But who knows, maybe he avoided a T turn(joking obv)

You're a terrific vlogger, right up there with Brad in terms of humility and skill. But I understand what you're doing, and I agree: It's important to protect yourself so that you can minimize your stress while also retaining as much of your "self" as possible.

It is getting out of control Lex. You are playing higher and higher stakes just to recover your losses. And we all know how that is gonna end. I have more respect for a clever, down to earth "Joey Knish" type of player, who knows at what stakes he can make some money.(and at what stakes he doesn't).......than someone who is trying to prove himself all the time because of his ego and is chasing losses after a big losing session. To be honest with you, you are unrecognizable lately, not the Lex i am used to see. Don't worry about those toxic losers that are mostly micro stakes donators. Most of them are just jealous that u build great channel with top10 uploads averaging over 140k views and ur constant recent viewership is 50k+ which is creating nice income on the top of your win rate. Only thing to consider is to sell some action when are playing super high stakes to feel more comfortable playing it. I believe many of viewers / friends would buy that action and can make watching live streams even more interesting. I'm long term follower of ur vlogs and it's good fun including dogs and not just poker degeneracy :))
The only thing I question is that last hand. Yes, flopping 2 pair is great but as you stated, it was a very wet board with the two Hearts out there. Following it until the end is smart but when a player you know well jams all in when that final heart hit? 🤔 I think I would've let that one go and finish with a nice profit. But, guess you felt he was bluffing, not sure. 🤷 Keep working it. You're obviously making a living doing it, paying the bills, eating well, etc. We all fall down now and then. Rampage and Mariano get so much hate on line and yet they just keep on plugging away. You get one or two negative comments per video and you cry. This video alone 99.9% of the comments are positive. Most of the "negative" comments that you refer to are people critiquing your play. Most of which are trying to be helpful. Most always, they are entertaining, and an enjoyable detour from daily activity for your viewership. You are an adept and formidable poker player, as evidenced by your ability to not just survive in the poker world, but to rise to the level that you have. My sentiments are, that you have thousands of fans that are proud for you. I've met you in person twice, once at Hard Rock Poker and at CoCo Poker, and you appear humble and professional given your status in the poker world. I love your videos Lex, because you show us when you win or lose, but in my opinion (not criticizing you) let's say you need $1000 a week to live, so when you made over $12000 you should think it as 12 weeks of income, that way is easy to get up and leave or at least not get into big hands, it happens to everyone, I lose all my stock of chips just about to leave, I said let me play the last hand and it was KK one guy went all in with AA then I called and loss all my chips, that was stupid but I learned my lesson.

Yeah I dont like Lex to be honest. He started off kinda enjoyable but hes got pretty stuck up imo. His commentary sometimes goes off like he thinks hes the best and everyone else for some reason is worse. I remember him popping up on some podcast about robbie and him mouthing off like hes some expert. Mind you this was when dude was playing like 5/10 acting like he understands high stakes.

The K 5 hand was interesting for sure. I mean if they are folding KQ it becomes an interesting bluff spot, but 1 of the players could of had a 5 easily. I dont think its the worse raise 4 handed actually, the problem is I think Lex has a tight non-bluffy image so playing trappy makes more sense for him vs a more aggressive player pool

That raise with k5 was the worst play I’ve ever seen. Forget results oriented. A lead and 2 calls and you raise, you have zero bluffs and zero worse value hands. That was dreadful

First... Your Vlog is perhaps the most transparent and real. For those viewers looking for true insight on the Poker Grind, yours is my favorite to watch. On the Q55 hand would you have considered raising with KJ or 67? If yes then the raise was fine, you have some bluffs and it looks super strong. If not it's just a terrible play. Find bluffs.
Great advice on the hand tbh. This is a spot some bluffs can exist, and its important to always be on the lookout for scenarios such as this that a raise would be super nutted and then consider what bluffs you might have in the spot. Although I think given the formation I'd just peel another street OTB. But who knows, maybe he avoided a T turn(joking obv)

You're a terrific vlogger, right up there with Brad in terms of humility and skill. But I understand what you're doing, and I agree: It's important to protect yourself so that you can minimize your stress while also retaining as much of your "self" as possible.

Meanwhile, I don't know your financial situation, but it's concerning. I wonder if you are going the rampage route of "gambling" instead of "playing" while justifying yourself as "its for the stream".
Don't worry about those toxic losers that are mostly micro stakes donators. Most of them are just jealous that u build great channel with top10 uploads averaging over 140k views and ur constant recent viewership is 50k+ which is creating nice income on the top of your win rate.
Only thing to consider is to sell some action when are playing super high stakes to feel more comfortable playing it. I believe many of viewers / friends would buy that action and can make watching live streams even more interesting.
I'm long term follower of ur vlogs and it's good fun including dogs and not just poker degeneracy :))
The only thing I question is that last hand. Yes, flopping 2 pair is great but as you stated, it was a very wet board with the two Hearts out there. Following it until the end is smart but when a player you know well jams all in when that final heart hit? 🤔 I think I would've let that one go and finish with a nice profit. But, guess you felt he was bluffing, not sure. 🤷

I'm one of the many who watch, like, but rarely comment. I hate to see the negativity in the comments section and that it's affecting you. I know you can't ignore them, but just look at the hard numbers. Views vs. Likes vs. Comments vs. Negative Comments. Don't let that needle in a haystack bother you! Haters will be haters.

I agree with you, stop reading comments or have some kind of filter. Your content is great. I’d rather keep watching you play while always trying to get better. Yes, there will be losses, but as long as you keep playing your best, that’s what matters and keeps me watching. There is another TH-cam player that keeps punting his money away and I’ve kinda been turned off from watching them. It doesn’t matter what stakes you play. Rampage and Mariano get so much hate on line and yet they just keep on plugging away. You get one or two negative comments per video and you cry. This video alone 99.9% of the comments are positive. Most of the "negative" comments that you refer to are people critiquing your play. Most of which are trying to be helpful. The 2p2 poker vloggers forum is especially trollish and negative. They don't think they're trollish and toxic, then again, toxic people aren't capable of knowing or perhaps acknowledging it. Personalities differ greatly from person to person, and some are not good.
Hi Lex. Long time subscriber and I look forward to viewing your content. I would make a case that quite a large number of your viewership enjoy living the poker life vicariously through your videos. Most always, they are entertaining, and an enjoyable detour from daily activity for your viewership. You are an adept and formidable poker player, as evidenced by your ability to not just survive in the poker world, but to rise to the level that you have. My sentiments are, that you have thousands of fans that are proud for you. I've met you in person twice, once at Hard Rock Poker and at CoCo Poker, and you appear humble and professional given your status in the poker world. I agree with many posts here that it is probably a good call adopting a new method on managing and processing the comments that you allow yourself to be exposed to. Only you know what is best for your poker career and if playing higher stakes / taking a shot is what you think is best who cares what a 1/3 miserable grinder thinks.
Lex , your videos are excellent but you can NEVER please the trolls. These are loser creeps who to a man are shifty players. How do I know this? Because winning players don't have time or the inclination to be internet aholes. They're too busy making money or improving their games...your giving far too much emotional investment to these fools...I watch a shitload of poker content...believe me when I say you have one of the best channels in this regard
I love your videos Lex, because you show us when you win or lose, but in my opinion (not criticizing you) let's say you need $1000 a week to live, so when you made over $12000 you should think it as 12 weeks of income, that way is easy to get up and leave or at least not get into big hands, it happens to everyone, I lose all my stock of chips just about to leave, I said let me play the last hand and it was KK one guy went all in with AA then I called and loss all my chips, that was stupid but I learned my lesson.

Lex, my mom always said, “what other people think about me is none of my business.” It’s a powerful reminder that you just do you ( which I believe is a powerful message) because there are so many unhappy, miserable people out there who have nothing positive to say no matter that they are clueless. Yeah I dont like Lex to be honest. He started off kinda enjoyable but hes got pretty stuck up imo. His commentary sometimes goes off like he thinks hes the best and everyone else for some reason is worse. I remember him popping up on some podcast about robbie and him mouthing off like hes some expert. Mind you this was when dude was playing like 5/10 acting like he understands high stakes.
I was one of the people who posted a comment on your last video. It was more "sarcastic" than "negative" in my opinion, but maybe the timing wasn't the best seeing as how you had a major downswing on the session.
After your commentary at the end of this video, I understand that sometimes it can be mentally draining to deal with all this, especially after taking a loss.

I think I might understand some. You can't help but take the comments to heart. I do wish you could just realize that for 97.35% of people on the internet are here to be petty and cutting trolls. But ignoring it isn't in your makeup. All those years at the top of the top 1% of American wrestlers has yet u so hardwired to grab ANY slight at all and pull it into your clam-shell of motivation to turn it into a pearl. No washing that residue off without a therapist or two, man. It will be less fun with less of your content.

The K 5 hand was interesting for sure. I mean if they are folding KQ it becomes an interesting bluff spot, but 1 of the players could of had a 5 easily. I dont think its the worse raise 4 handed actually, the problem is I think Lex has a tight non-bluffy image so playing trappy makes more sense for him vs a more aggressive player pool
