    to fix stiction in 6.0 powerstroke? If you have issues with stiction in your 6.0 powerstroke then check this video out. In this video the 6.0 bros talk about our experience with Archoil 9100 friction modifier! Archoil is suppose to help with stiction in 6.0 powerstroke, and 7.3 powerstroke injectors. This diesel oil additive has become very popular and I want to talk about why. I do not have experience with Archoil in the 7.3 powerstroke, but I can say that Archoil ar9100 fixes stiction in the 6.0 powerstroke. Now when I say fix obviously the spool valve is warn out and needs replaced, but until you're able to do so archoil will help keep your truck going. There are many diesel oil additives out there. I completely feel that archoil ar9100 fixes stiction symptoms in the 6.0 powerstroke, and I also use it every oil change.

    Love this product!! Been using it for 2 years. My truck starts up rough in the winter if I don't plug it up but if I use archoil I can cold start it without plugging it up with no problems. Definitely recommend it! It's worth the try.

    I have been thinking of running the arch oil additive. I don't have injector issues currently and figured it would be extra protection. I have somewhere around 145k on my truck. I switched to t6 and it has done well. Smoother idle, quieter when running, quicker cold starts. I have a bunch of stuff sitting on my work bench when I finally get good weather I am going to dive into it. Stc fitting, egr delete, new high flow oil cooler, coolant filter kit. Also got some peak final charge coolant that's got the cat elc1 rating as well as navistar and a bunch of others.

    I'm not a mechanic and wish I knew more about my 2005 6.0, I bought it new. I have ALWAYS changed my oil and antifreeze regularly. I use Lucas fuel and oil additives and only used Rotela conventional. T4 or T6 dont remember which one it is.
    I have 373,975 miles. All original parts.
    I keep watching you tube videos and would love to bullet proof and add all kind of mods, but I dont want to mess up a good thing. So I just keep on running her.
    I'm sure I'm getting close to the end and am having a hard time with cold starts this winter.
    I'm in texas and it's not even cold yet. So I'm using my block heater and it seems to be helping, alot.

      Stiction is caused by lack of maintenance,it’s that simple. You got 400k because your doing your maintenance on time. The 6.0 is hard on the engine oil,it should be changed every 150 hours, so many ppl go a lot further and then wonder why they have injector problems.

    I am going to be that guy.
    I love the channel and the content.
    I am not saying this stuff is good or bad, I do have questions.
    What sort of testing has been put into this besides the the internet "facts"?
    Anything slightly scientific besides the "my dads co workers uncle says it made his trucks injectors un-stickable"
    How do you know it fixed or lengthened the life of your injectors? Did the codes disappear?
    I guess what I am saying is like all additives there is no real way to test this stuff because you cannot isolate one bank of injectors oil supply from the other to have the same variables to do any sort of a legitimate test that holds up. Remember Duralube?
    I would think regular oil changes with good oil would be the best.

    • @six0bros
      @six0bros  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I fully support asking questions. I am unable to say what testing has been done as far as scientific studies. What I can say is when I did have a contribution balance code archoil helped to prolong that inject. Now many people think this fixed stiction however it only hides the symptoms of stiction. In the end the only real fix is to pull the injector and address the spool valve issue. I can say though the code left until it was around the time for an oil change. I cannot say that it will or will not prolong the life of my injectors however I have been very impressed with it and believe it to aid in protecting the components. Also using high quality oil definitely helps injector life.

      In my experience it does help. It does not fix the issue but it will help with it through to an oil change in many instances. The underlying cause is still there and eventually will probably need replaced. I do feel it is worth a shot at least once to see if it helps. Archoil seems to have a pretty quick impact on it but doesn't last as long overall. People that have used hot shots revx say it isn't as fast acting but tends to last longer

    HPOP question, at full throttle what should your actual injection control pressure be?

    • @six0bros
      @six0bros  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      It is dependent on tune. Most tuners fool the pcm into reading a different icp number, I believe to command a higher ipr but I could be completely wrong on why they do it. So if you are tuned you will need to look at icp voltage to find the actual icp psi there is a conversion. Roughly 4.7 volts is around 4000psi. If you are not tuned your icp probably wouldn't higher than 2800-3200ish. However, on a full fuel race tune you should be able to see upwards of 4000psi. Typically once you floor it you'll see a spike in psi and then it will settle a little lower. Does this make sense? If not I can do a video talking more about it.

    • @frank6522
      @frank6522 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      6.0 Bros ok, that kinda makes sense... I have a late 04 6.0 with a SCT livewire and while I don’t often pay attention to it I happen to glance at it passing a car and the pressure only read a high of like 1772psi at about 3/4 throttle for approx 5-10 sec (typical pass of a slower vehicle on the expressway) current tune loaded is a XDP extreme street non-VGT (truck came equipped with a ATS Aurora 3000) it didn’t seem down on power or anything, but it just got back from the dealer for a faulty cam position sensor causing no hot start issues so of course I’m worried the HPOP and IPR could be next

    • @six0bros
      @six0bros  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      That sounds about good. On my idp tunes on ultimate x I hit a max of 2100ish

    • @frank6522
      @frank6522 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      6.0 Bros so looking at ICP voltage what kind of reading should I be looking for? I’ll check the tuner I’m pretty sure I can bring that up as one of the read outs

    • @six0bros
      @six0bros  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      So key on engine off it should read around 0.20 when up to operating temp it should idle around 0.9 then as for wot it depends on the tune. But you should be able to hit around a 4.0 if it's a full race tune you should be able to get up to 4.7

I’ve had the truck now only a couple of months. Goes away once the oil warms so I’m going to switch to 5-40 t6 with archoil to see what it does. I’m gonna swap the fuel filters too just for good measure. Oil was running and black as coal when I got it. It just rolled 200k with stock everything.

    • @MCTriptych
      @MCTriptych 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      6.0 Bros it’s funny cause as the 15-40 wears down and oil takes less time to warm there’s far less clanking. When I plug her in, even when the temps don’t drop below 50 I don’t have any issues at start up. I’m hoping the switch to 5-40 helps but now you got me concerned since I bought the t6

      I dont have experience with it but maybe I'll look into it. At the end of the day I'm really just trying to get good information out there

      Ran Amsoil for years and I believe it’s great oil...but it didn’t help my 6.0 sticking injectors. Gave archoil a shot now I have 0 sticking injector issues. This stuff works great. I noticed the archoil lasts about 5,000-7000 miles or so before I need to change oil and re add.
