    I found Archoil ten years ago when I was quoted 1,500 dollars on new injectors. I'm running the same injectors now and do 10k mile oil changes without any major issues. 100k miles in that time frame. I did update the egr cooler to a bulletproof version and replaced the oil pump 5 years ago out of fear. I have an early 04. 6.0. I saw results in 200 miles of driving. Archoil is worth every penny, especially considering the oil life extension pays for the product. Send the Ficm out for repair I have also sent my dash hud out for repair. No more issues. I run Shell T-6 Rottela oil.

      These engines do no like extended oil changes. The high pressure oil system shears (cuts the viscosity) of the oil, and friction modifiers cannot stop that. The only way to keep things in check is to change the oil often, especially if you tow. Even the factory recommendation of 7500 is to long. The oil is sheared much before that mileage. Im doing 3000-5000 miles oil changes depending on my towing time. I use 2 shots of Revex, and Schaefers 5/40, which is the best oil available to me. I too am on my original injectors. I have the Amsoil bypass filtration, and I tried to go 10,000 between oil changes, and I had problems with boost codes, due to the sheared oil.

    I’ve been running Hot shot’s Stiction eliminator in my oil, switched to Rotella T-6 after I did injectors. I run hot shot’s extreme diesel additive in my fuel as well. However I am currently working under the lights to replace dummy plugs and standpipes so I can haul my tool trailer to the job tomorrow. Gonna be a short night for sleep. I have a late model ‘04 and am so far underwater on the damn thing that I can’t possibly trade her in. Gonna drive her til the wheels fall off. I’ll tell you what, when this truck runs well, it’s a heck of a ride, but when something goes south, it’s usually a couple to 5 grand. The 6.0 is a good motor but whoever the hell was behind the components is hopefully working at Hot Dog On a Stick.

    Good video overall but... LOL Regardless of the price per gallon. Putting it in perspective, it is $50 extra per oil change. Or, the two options. 1 - Keep driving and do some other potential damage or 2 - spend $2K for new injectors. You'll need new injectors eventually but that is 40 oil changes (~200,000 miles) if the injectors do not fail in between.
    Sounds worth it to me.

  • @RoubidouxCreekOutdoors
    @RoubidouxCreekOutdoors ปีที่แล้ว

    In most cases if the injectors are close to going out the oil will for sure help to extend a little longer but eventually replacement is coming. The best results is once new injectors keep running the stuff that being the oil treatment and the fuel treatment. In theory if oil changes are done at the 5-7K miles with good oil, the " Correct fuel and oil filters" they claim to allow the injectors to reach 150-200K miles out of them. If everything else is good to go and maintained. These trucks are like porches they are a lot of power form a small engine but high maintenance. Trust me I own one and done a tone of research on them. Also make sure you run the correct oil weight for the region and type of driving you do.

    At the fuel filter change you need run archoil diesel fuel system cleaner or hot shots secret in the bowl too (not in the tank, after a heat cycle, while the engine is still at running temp) and that will give you noticeable results quickly. Every fuel filter change I run either archoil or hot shots secret in the bowl or some combination. That has made a very noticeable difference in the mileage/performance for me. I was having the jerking sensation as well and I tried archoil. Never looked back at anything else.

      Terry Slay I never abused the truck or pushed hard. It’s towed and worked a lot but never raced or had a tuner / lift kit on it. Meticulous maintenance. 6,000 mile oil changes and set of fuel filters every other oil change (12,000 miles). I deleted the EGR valve also. I just had an oil analysis done and they said everything looks great and that all wear metals in the oil are below average. The engine has a lot of life left. I use an oil with a high TBN, (Amsoil 15W-40 Heavy Duty Diesel and Marine) and when I sent the oil in they said I should try extending my oil change intervals out to 7,500 miles because the oil looked so good. I think the Archoil also acts like an additional additive package for the oil and preserves it so to speak. Another great oil I have run in the past is John Deere 15W-40 Plus 50ll; it also has a high TBN and I’ve gotten amazing oil analysis reports with it. Better than Rotella, Delo, Delvac, etc.

    • @zackzander425

      Michael Samuel. It isn’t necessary because they don’t use the same injection system. The 6.0 and 7.3 Power Strokes use high pressure oil to fire the injectors. The oil is being used like hydraulic fluid. In a HD truck like a semi all I would do is run a lubricant in the fuel because ULSD is hard in injection systems. They are supposed to add a lubricant/cetane to it but who knows how much they really do. I like OptiLube XL or Archoil fuel treatment. The OptiLube will cost less.

      I use Revex also. Instantly eliminated the sticktion I had with #4 injector. That was 8 or so years ago. Still running all 8 original injectors after 18 years. I change the oil every 3000 miles, along with 2 4 oz shots of Revex.

  • @MrMan5014
    @MrMan5014 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

    You need to change the oil more often…you should have changed it before you added the Archoil and you should always use ford filters or navistar filters…usually a 5w40 synthetic oil or even a semi-synthetic 10w30 works good in those 6.0’s…it’s a Cat designed fuel injection system and Cat recommends 10w30…or the Motorcraft oil works good too!…change the oil every 7500 miles or less…those powerstroke will run a long time if you maintain them!

      I used to change the oil every 5,000 miles... but I rarely drive the truck, so one time it took 47 months to rack up that many miles and I decided to change it every 6 months now just to sleep better at night :)

      I'm a believer! Night and day difference for my truck after about 100 miles. It won't save me from having to replace the bad injectors but it's helping enough that it will buy me some more time to save up for them, and if I continue using Archoil products, it should make the new injectors last a looong time.

      @@betterbeaters i have a buddy who is a chemists in gas and oil and the stuff is super simple the main ingredient is the same as a bunch of other products but its how they blend it high sheer mixing... the hope and injectors are hard on the oil ant it actually sheers the molecules so they can't sustain their function... so archoil its technically pre sheered.... we've made something similar used in fracking.... right now we're testing a all in one diesel oil we made specifically for huei... I also recommend their new fuel treatment my wife is getting 870 miles to the tank in her excursion 6.0

    If Im not towing, I change oil about every 15-20k miles. Changing filter in between. Have multiple 6.0s, know multiple 6.0s and have never experienced the problems I see all these complaints about. There was a gas station here that had a lot of water in their gas but after that, nope. Hundreds of thousands of miles and none of these issues and no deleting and no bullet proofing. Just went out of town and drove over 90 MPH the entire way, idled, city driving, no issues.
    I always think im next but im at the point now im planning rebuilds just because I want to refurb the trucks all together.

    Your physical is bad get a bullet proof victim because you’re below 44 V is what powers your fuel injectors I have a bullet proof 58 V victim which is a fuel injection control module which controls how fast your injectors shoot the fuel into your cylinder check them out they’re $850 your truck will scream I love my 6.0 after I’ve dialed in I had an 03 Harley Davidson centennial edition and now I have an 05 Harley Davidson addition
