I've been following reports on this in Africa. The majority of cases I've heard reported with mpox are individuals 18 years and younger. So, are these teenagers acting like rabits, is homosexuality prevalent in DRC, is sex trade big in DRC too. I remember the news reports from California with very long lines of gay men waiting for and demanding increased production of monkey pox vaccines. I thought it was an STD?
It seems most easily spread in that way, much in the way AIDS was - but like AIDS it's not the only way it can spread. It does seem that this time around nobody wants to cast any blame for the spread of the disease on a certain sector of society as was done with AIDS.

I was listening to your podcast all through the pandemic and appreciated very much the updated information you gave about the virus and vaccines, as you are doing now with mpox and I am learning from it. I find the scientific explanations and drawings very helpful in understanding the nature of the virus and cells. Maybe not everyone has the 'head space' for it. Thanks Dr.Bean. Death rates: is it not true that we do not know how many infections since many will not get tested for mood. Basically if you were sick bad enough to seek medical intervention then you have that10 percent chance of death for example.
