      They have definitely gone up in price. They are now $120 vs the $75 I paid. Look up DYNAFORM rod stock. 1"×10'

    How does it handle in chop ans how shallow can you go ( or fish in).

    • @hab-outdoors
      @hab-outdoors  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It handles choppy water fairly decent as far as how shallow will it run well there are some factors. If you are like me with no jack plate you can run in about 16” of water with little weight in boat. You need around 20” to plain off. With a jack plate I’ve heard you can run in as little as 9” with little to no weight in boat.

    I do take mine on the ocean in New Hampshire can handle a lot and yes you do get a bit wet.

    How shallow can you go on it to fish on and be able to plane back up again?

    • @hab-outdoors
      @hab-outdoors  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Without a jack plate you can plane off in about 16" with a hard turn

    Great video, I was going to get the 15, nothing in stock, so I might just get the 17 since I have to wait 3 months to get either.

      You will definitely be happy with a 17. No doubt.

      I have the pro skiff 15, and had it for 19 months. I recommend the pro skiff 17 due to the aft (rear) live well working properly. The live well in the center console tends to catch air and fails to cycle in water leaving you with dead bait if not checked regularly. It's become too much of a hassle to unscrew the nozzle and sucking on it to get it going again.
      Buy a secondary bubbler in case you forget to check the live well to keep your bait alive.

    • @Carnivorefitness2024
      @Carnivorefitness2024 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@JoseGonzalez-wk2tl I heard about that problem, its not the same issue on the 17? I was going to get the 17 since I have to order, but now I heard 6 to 8 months out on an order, no thanks, I'll wait until the economy crashes again lol boats for sale everywhere then.

    • @hab-outdoors
      @hab-outdoors  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Ha ha. No doubt. In my area there alot of Mako 17 and 15 for sale. Not sure why as they are truly good boats.

    • @JoseGonzalez-wk2tl
      @JoseGonzalez-wk2tl 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@Carnivorefitness2024 it's a manufacturer defect on all pro skiffs but, it's still a great boat. I do recommend waiting since the demand is high and quality of boats now are having issues. Already had 3 defects with the boat so far. Mako warranty is the best in the business, to which they fixed it no questions asked.

    1 year old and less than 40 hrs?!?! You’re the kind of guy I wanna buy a boat from! Lol

    • @hab-outdoors
      @hab-outdoors  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You wouldn't think it but I fish all the time. It's only a few miles to my spot from the boat ramp

    • @rackemwells
      @rackemwells 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@hab-outdoors I run an old town with a Mercury 2.5hp 2 stroke and while I THINK I’d run a Mako like this 100’s of hrs in its first year, I’m sure it would end up being far far less. What takes me an hr takes you a few minutes. 😂 I’ve looked at the pro skiffs some, they’d surely fit most of my needs on the Chesapeake. I REALLY want a side console or at least a little tiny center console that didn’t take up all the deck space.

    • @hab-outdoors
      @hab-outdoors  3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Change out that plastic steering wheel out. Video's of it here on youtube. Did that cooler seat with the backrest? Should get 35 miles on 6 gallons (I never trust that though). Fusion radio with shallow mount speakers on both sides of the center unit (fits well) and sounds great bouncing off of the hull. Fish like Talking Heads or so I think. 2015 17 pro bought new for me. Smashed a plastic fender (my fault) easy to replace. I like the storage in the newer ones. Why don't the boat makers make a round bait tank? They just don't get it. I never use mine.

    • @hab-outdoors
      @hab-outdoors  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes sir the back rest came with it. Steering wheel is doing great for now. I have it under a cover so all is protected. I've never really payed attention to how far the fuel gets ya. It's a great boat and we'll worth the money. As far as the bait well goes it's a never ending battle with the designers.
