Another good one Ned. I'm investing heavy in my home state of Benue. I'm into agriculture and currently building a warehouse and clearing 2 hectares of land for farming activities (starting small). If our people understood what's really going on, they wouldn't be running off to the West. Those countries are beautiful, I was there for decades, but Nigeria is magical and we haven't even scratched the surface yet. Thank you for these wonderful and inspirational videos. Let's hope next year's elections puts someone in front that knows the worth of our country and our people

Unless the Dollar shortage problem is resolved, manufacturing in Nigeria is difficult. This is because most machines, and raw materials are imported.
Airlines for instance, recently were unable to repatriate $450m. Their only option is to source for Dollars from the black market at ridiculous rate.
The other problem, is that the govt imposes double/triple taxes.
The seaport is another problem. You'd import stuff, and it would sit at the ports for 3 months.
Logistics is a problem too. Bad roads makes it costly to move goods.
How about power? Factories require power. Are you going to run your machines on diesel, or petrol and generators?
Security is discouraging too. Kidnapping is increasing at an alarming rate.
Do your research very well before you decide to start a business.

These factories should be requested to build modern day state of the art hospitals and specialist cancer hospitals in Nigeria. The products from these companies cause different cancers. It is time these companies are made to put something back to the community. These companies came to make money in Nigeria. I know they might produce jobs for people but their primary aim is to make money - profits. Nigeria should now aspire to use their own raw materials. Noodles and corn flakes are foreign to Nigeria. Why can't Nigerians start to manufacture and export Nigerian foods and culture to the world. We are tired of foreigners bringing their foods and culture to us.

When will Africans realize that being overly reliant on foreign MNC "investment" equals greater external dependency? No economy grows that way; but several economies, including nascent industries that were budding in Africa after nominal independence, were killed that way. Internal growth is the only sustainable growth- unless you want other countries to be able to threaten to further destabilize your economy by cutting jobs/closing their factories whenever they don't get a "yes?" Western MNCs also have massive political clout, extending to the military. Real world 101.

You're doing a good job promoting Nigeria. However, you sound like many naive like many naive Africans eager for western foreign companies to take over your country.
What Africans should be doing is promote self reliance by advocating for more access to capital to local African businesses and companies to invest in themselves, instead of allowing greedy multinational corporations who siphon out their profits and leave the local workers poorer.
China grew economically stronger by investing in their people through education, and turn that local talent to build cheap reliable energy supply, the backbone of development, infrastructure (roads, bridges, rails, ports, logistics, housing, Healthcare and agriculture etc.
Africa don't want to repeat the same mistakes South Africa made, by allowing foreign white Europeans to control everything in the country and make the people poor in their own country.
