Great job explaining the set up to us new detectors, i had seen many videos about the 600 but to a new user it's all to fast or hard to understand, but with you video you helped me termensly.
Hi Jamie, glad it helped you out.. with any new machine its always best to go for the simple set up, then you can learn more as you go along, but as you say, to many videos go to much in depth, keep it simple.. Happy hunting mate Tom
Great video, I just bought a 600 a few days ago and you have explained the use of it exactly how a novice like me can understand how to quickly set it up and get started, I have to say that my normal way of learning is reading, reading, reading the owners manual and still not being able to use the equipment efficiently and getting good results. I will be taking my machine out on its first hunt later today. I already have your settings loaded up in to "field 1" and I'm going to hit it hard! thanks again! Keith from Elk City Oklahoma

Hello Tom, I have been looking at videos on the 600 and 800 and in every one, the user goes racing through the different settings and it goes right over my head. In your video, you show everything slowly, speak slowly and for the first time, I get to see the control screen really close up which no other demonstrators have done. I highly commend you for putting this video together which has helped a slow old brain like mine get to grasps with this machine.
Hi Bill, I do not use the Equinox now, at my age I found it to be a bit nose heavy..lol But I made this video at the time, because like you I couldn't find a decent straight forward video on the Equinox.. and the last thing you need is to go on a field with a new machine and spend half the detecting time messing about with the settings.. So I wanted to show just the basic settings, so people could do detecting straight away, then slowly look into the more complex settings over time at their own pace.. I wish you luck with the Nox, and I hope you find plenty of treasure... or lead or bottle tops..🤣 Take care mate Tom

This a great video, I am new to this hobby and bought the 600. I wish the manual was a bit more user friendly. For instance the different screen with pressing the cog. I never new what setting I was in. Like it could read press 1 for AU, press it twice for this or that. This may seem a bit elementary but for me being brand new, it would be helpful. Also I haven't seen anyone address the shovel icons on the right side of the screen. Obviously they are for depth of target, but what measurement is it supposed to be. Each shovel represents one shovel length, or are they actually a unit of measurement. I still haven't gotten this figures out, so if you have some insight, I would appreciate hearing it. CHESHIRE METAL DETECTING thanks tom, just got the 600 today, ill try just field 1 at weekend , seems a good machine, im upgrading from a garett 250 would you say its a bog improvement over the garret?
The garretts are good machines, I have the 400 with a 15 inch Mars coil on it.. so I wouldnt say its a big improvement, but its got some benefits over the garrett... I know if I just want to go out without messing with settings, then its the 400 all the time, all I can say is.. do a few tests with different objects with both machines... hope you get the hang of it...its not hard, just seems it is at first....lol

Hi Jackie, I have not been on a decent hunt with it yet, just an hour or two here and there, I need to really get stuck into a good 5-6 hour hunt, then I will have a good idea on its overall performance, just this bloody weather again getting in the way... hope all is well
