My mom and her brother grew up in Frogtown. The house they grew up in is still standing It's over 100 years old. I remember going to mass at Saint Agnes when we visited my grandparents.
PBS has a documentary on the old Rondo neighborhood, an African American community prior to I-94 being built. It might still be on TH-cam. Also check the Minnesota Historical Society.
A A: Even South Snelling especially the 400 block is now blighted. White flight during the 1970s. There's even White Flight in every state in our country and many other countries too like in Ireland Belfast and Dublin and London. Even in Paris and Scandinavian Countries.
@TC Ya no Downtown there but sporadic violence throughout the years in Downtown or what is left of Downtown St. Paul. Plenty of looting and burning from St. Paul to Minneapolis! Police stood by and watched it happen!

Light rail ruined this street! Dangerous as hell to drive! Thugs everywhere....Not safe area to walk in the day and good luck making it at night!

Ya show the burned out buildings and parking lots now! Gov. Walz held the guard back during the looting and arson on 05/28/2020!
