r is the number in a geometric series that is being raised to a power. in this case (3/2) is raised to the n, so 3/2 is the r value

@@samanthameek4134 I think you already got your answer since it's been 3 years but I think it's 2 since it's the number closest to n and normally you have to do exponents first.
