They should have just given Christian (Lions at the Gate) the name “Ill Nino” and continued under the name “El Nino” then everything would have been ok. It's not the same without Christian, the singer determines the band not the instruments. Anyone can play the instruments but the vocals only exist once.
Ok so i'm not opposed to this song. Catchy and whatnot. Problem is it sounds like too many bands nowadays. Old Ill Nino was unique. If these guys changed singers and sound to fit in, well congrats. Sadly it doesnt get you that noticed. Good luck gents. I do hope you succeed cause i love rock music
Honestly, it still sounds somewhat like the old Ill Nino (even though the production sound is different) .. But I think what makes it not "stand out" (As you said) anymore is because of the vocals. So many parts in this song I could imagine Machado's voice singing instead, and it would sound exactly like the old Ill Nino we knew... But love it or hate it, it's a total different vocalist here. Don't waste time comparing. Either you keep following them, or you don't. I liked the old sound, so I stopped following after all the drama started.. This popped up on my news feed just now, so... I'll go listen to some older ill nino now. Whatever it is, the drummer is still getting paid (old or new songs/listeners), and he knows it. haha.

Lions at the Gate is actually mediocre and boring af. Disappointing. Their new song Can't Feel the Sun is ok, but it still doesnt sound like Ill Nino, just like this doesnt either. They've lost all the rumba completely.
They been quite about Christians new band. Lions at the gate. The original singer Christian had so much more potential than any other singer in my opinion. The only replacement could've been demon hunter but let's face it. There's still a huge gap between them
The songwriting and composition here isn't that different from their second or third album... It's just that in 2024, brutal metal has become more mainstream, and our ears have become accustomed to heavier sounds. What seemed very brutal to us in 2003 just sounds like rock today, but it was also inconceivable at the time that bands like Lorna Shore or Knocked Loose would become hyped and as popular as they are.
I kinda agree, this sounds more like octane-core breaking benjamin stuff, and its not necessarily bad (I listen to some music like this anyways) but still. Not every band needs to go in this direction lol

The drums are way too high in the mix, and they're so very audibly tracked and robotic sounding. So many bands do this now. Can no one play a kit anymore?
Mix is really weird man. The balance is all over the fucking place. Drums don't sound live. They sound programmed. The mix is over compressed as hell. Hence no low end at all.
This doesn't even feel like I'll Niño, just really generic. It's in no way a BAD song, it's good, musically, just didn't have the same OOOMPH that their older stuff did

If you check the tracklisting, most of the first EP is stuff they've already released over the last few years, with only a couple of new songs. Vol. 2 has all the unreleased stuff.

They've given an official statement about Tommy Vext (Marc is the lead guitarist in his solo band) filling in for Marcos on their European tour - no word from Marcos himself. The "IllMortals" series was supposed to be out in June, and now you can't even pre-order it, and there's been no word from the band OR label. Something seems off.

I love love LOVE this band From Day 1 but this felt and sounded like an in between song. I expected an “ I am loco” or “this is war” with a ripping solo or something. I’m not trying sound like a D$&k, I’m just being honest. I love this Band and will continue to love and support them but this was not really it for me. It sounded like something a movie company wanted for a movie soundtrack so you had to water it down to please Hollywood.
This song is ok. I don't love it. Not enough harsh vocals. Too much cleans. I like Ill Nino's heavier stuff. The singer isn't bad. Just need to hear more of his harsh vocals.

@@peteranthony8523 The last album with Christian Machado was 2014's *Till Death, La Familia* , then the new vocalist Marcos Leal started with the band making the 2024 album *IllMortals Vol.1* featuring this song right here "Beast Inside". So to answer your question they changed vocalist in-between the two albums, Marcos Leal started with the band in 2019.

It was supposed to be out, but I'm guessing there was a distribution error or they decided to hold off. Hopefully it comes out soon because Vol. 2 is supposed to be out at the end of the month.

Every time I watch this video there is one thing that stands out to me so brilliantly that it has gotten to the point that even my old man says 'Here comes your guy honey'........the drummer!! Dude is by far the happiest damn drummer I've ever seen play in my entire life and I'm 47yo and been around ALOT of musicians in that time. Countless drummers. This man's smile and energy are so damn intense that that's all I see in this video. The guy makes my damn day EVERY. SINGLE. TIME! I extend my deepest gratitude for that and I hope he never loses that smile or enthusiasm ❤

@Dimon13S something to think about- not that this is likely, but let's put today's news in perspective. They've given an official statement about Tommy Vext (Marc is the lead guitarist in his solo band) filling in for Marcos on their European tour - no word from Marcos himself. The "IllMortals" series was supposed to be out in June, and now you can't even pre-order it, and there's been no word from the band OR label. Something seems off.
@@fromdepthswerise3024 I think Marcos & even Marc have either left the band or just lost interest for the most part, they are both way more focused on their other projects over ill niño & aren’t touring with them now, can’t blame them since illmortals has been in limbo with no sign of release anytime soon & most if not all hype for the band is dying

I love love LOVE this band From Day 1 but this felt and sounded like an in between song. I expected an “ I am loco” or “this is war” with a ripping solo or something. I’m not trying sound like a D$&k, I’m just being honest. I love this Band and will continue to love and support them but this was not really it for me. It sounded like something a movie company wanted for a movie soundtrack so you had to water it down to please Hollywood.

@@peteranthony8523 The last album with Christian Machado was 2014's *Till Death, La Familia* , then the new vocalist Marcos Leal started with the band making the 2024 album *IllMortals Vol.1* featuring this song right here "Beast Inside". So to answer your question they changed vocalist in-between the two albums, Marcos Leal started with the band in 2019.

It was supposed to be out, but I'm guessing there was a distribution error or they decided to hold off. Hopefully it comes out soon because Vol. 2 is supposed to be out at the end of the month.

@@blueberrydenim4807 it looks like the record label responded on Facebook. Due to unforeseen issues with publishing the physical copies, they had to push back the release date. So Vol. 1 is now coming out at the end of the month, with Vol. 2 coming out August 16th.
@christopherbullock6679 just recieved an email just a sec ago from the lable. It's exactly as you predicted. An issue with manufacturer. Volume 1 is going live on digital july 26th and Volume 2 August 16th. Volume 1 pre orders are expected to arrive by August 9th. T shirts are expected to be sooner.
Its hard to adjust compared to the old stuff. That said this can grow on me.

Every time I watch this video there is one thing that stands out to me so brilliantly that it has gotten to the point that even my old man says 'Here comes your guy honey'........the drummer!! Dude is by far the happiest damn drummer I've ever seen play in my entire life and I'm 47yo and been around ALOT of musicians in that time. Countless drummers. This man's smile and energy are so damn intense that that's all I see in this video. The guy makes my damn day EVERY. SINGLE. TIME! I extend my deepest gratitude for that and I hope he never loses that smile or enthusiasm ❤
