    MSRP: ~$36,220
    Year: 2017
    Make: Chevrolet (Chevy)
    Model: Impala
    Configuration: Premier
    Engine: 3.6L V6 with Variable Valve Timing (VVT)

    Tank Size: 18.5 gallons

    Seats: 5 (2 in the front, 5 in the back)
    Towing Capacity: 1000 lbs (ummm don't tow your boat with this)
    ► My thoughts:
    + I don't like the location of the electronic parking brake. It should be by the push button start or gear shift.
    + Very difficult to see out the back window. Using the back up camera is a must.
    + Super comfortable seat. Great arm rests.
    + Chevy charges you an additional $40 for a "front license plate bracket". Uncool Chevy, very uncool.
    + You can add a sunroof for an additional $1,050. Not bad, I'd do it.

    Such an underrated car! I wish Chevy's marketing team would advertise this instead of focusing mainly on the malibu and silverado.

      +Erick Y. Agreed. Sadly, Chevy is no longer going to make the Impala after 2019. I'm sure they'll be something similar under a new name, but I'm still sorry to see it go.

      Erick Y. Yaaaah ikr it’s sad how they don’t pay attention to the impala, it’s like they have no respect for it, but it should get 100% respect for its v6 and luxurious interior, this should be considered as an luxury sedan... what do you think?

    Nice review! The Impala seems like a pretty neat vehicle in it's class. It is beginning to show it's age a bit, but overall it seems like a solid car.
    Your review was very concise, yet extremely informative. I reviewed a used Chrysler 300, and this vehicle seems like a pretty direct competitor.
    From one car reviewer to another, keep up the great work, sir! 👍🏽

    I have the 2017 Premier in silver. Love this car for the same reasons, it's size and ride. There's an option that gives you an AC plug in the back, and wireless charger for your phone in the cubby below the center dash. I never have to plug my phone in.

    • @100RentalCars
      @100RentalCars  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Mark DeRoller Honestly, I rarely like cars in silver. I'm sure why. But I do agree the black looks nice on the Impala. And thanks for the info on the other options! I'm slowly learning just how many ways there are to configure these cars. Sometimes to combinations are endless. Anyway, thanks for the great comment.

    On higher equipped models you get a few more options. A heated steering wheel, and a standard AC outlet on the back of the center console, and the Adaptive Cruise Control.
    There are some great comfort and convenience items as well that you may not have had on that model. For example, memory settings for the Drivers seat, including Mirror settings. These are tagged to the Key Fobs for Set 1 and Set 2, as well as an exit setting. As for your visibility issue out of the back window, I really have not noticed a problem. As you said you get a back up camera, and between the camera and mirrors that self adjust when backing up it's not a problem. Which is another convenience setting. You can have the Mirrors dip down when you back up to help you see curbs and bumpers as you back up. As soon as you put the car in Drive they pop back up to your preset settings or where you last had them set.
    I have a 2015 LTZ and after 40K miles I can honestly say I have zero regrets with the purchase. For a little while I was driving 3K a month and this car is a dream to drive.
    The car has a very quiet ride compared to the previous model Impala.

    • @100RentalCars
      @100RentalCars  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Ron Brumble Thanks for the great comment! I have seen the automatic tilting mirrors feature in a few other models. It's super helpful. I'm glad it's also available on the Impala. And I am a bit sad that Chevy has decided to stop making the Impala. Hopefully they'll put some of this cars best features in whatever they decide to produce next (which hopefully will be electric). Have you made any videos of you car? I'd love to see it and compare it to this model.

      My Daughter is the TH-camr, not I. I'll Mention it to her.
      I know they have a 2018 version out and there is still talk of 2019. But anything after that is speculation and they really aren't saying much. I hope they keep it running but you may be right. I just hope they don't wait another 15 years to kick a new one out.

    Great review. Once drove the Impala with the 4cylinder and another time more recently with the V6 - this is much needed to be as standard as the 4cyl. is asking for a turbo. The interior room in this large/full-size car is ridiculous and much appreciated when using it to haul people or things. thanks much and look forward to the next video!

    I rented one of these back on 2014 when this styling first came out. I have a 2010 Impala. Wanted to see what the new ones had to offer. They gave me a 4cyl Impala LS but I was truly surprised how good the pickup was. I liked expect for that weird hump in the back between the rear window and seats. It's ashame GM is planning to discontinue the Impala. My 2010 has been very reliable for owning her for 6 years with close to 200k miles on her. I am looking at a Camry now these new Impala's are just a little too big. Good review

    • @100RentalCars
      @100RentalCars  6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      +Jasper DiLincoln 200,000 miles? Whoa, that's incredible. What's your secret? And yeah, I was sad to hear they're phasing out the Impala too; however, I'm sure we'll vet something very similar from Chevy. As for the Camry, I think it's a good choice. It's not a "sexy" purchase...but it is a fun car to drive. Same with the Corolla, which is going to be my next review.

    • @vegasbab.y3740
      @vegasbab.y3740 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Jasper DiLincoln same we had ours for 6 years too but the age is actually 7 for the car itself, but it’s reliable haven’t had any problems what’s so ever but except when it needs a tune up, when it needs a tune up, it really needs it cause you can feel it as you drive down the road at 25mph but other than that it’s been perfect. And I’m looking forward to getting a performance chip for it too to make it way faster and save a lot of Gas*

    I currently have 16in wheels on another Chevy Impala year. Honestly I'm happy because I get to put bigger than normal Tires that help with traction in the winter. Great for off road area too living out in the country side.

    As I recall, Consumer Reports gave the Impala a very high score. I believe it was a 94. That's unusually high. A Tesla received a score of 100, but later lowered that score dramatically for reliability issues.

      Perhaps you're correct in your world, but I found your remark very much mistaken by you. I know that there are youngbloods who drive Town Cars, for example, and pimp them out to their liking. TCs are also regarded as old man's vehicles and yet it depends on who owns it and their mindset on it. ♐

      The Corvette is an old man’s car, now.
      The Baby Boomers desperately trying to hang on to their youth.
      Meanwhile.. I’m a generation and a half younger and I always liked big comfortable cars. You appreciate comfort far more on a daily basis than you can appreciate speed, acceleration, and handling. The Impala is plenty fast enough for day to day.. more so than most of the ubiquitous and depressing crossovers you see.

    VVT helps with gas mileage and performance. Bunch of different manufacturers use VVT to help with those 2 and emissions as well basically. It's just another technology like direct injection, turbo charging, super charging and etc. I like the impala in the class that it is in. For a full size sedan I find it a great crusier. I find the rear visibility to not be an issue IMHO

    • @100RentalCars
      @100RentalCars  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for the info on the VVT. As for the rear visibility, you're probably just a better driver than I am. I never feel like I have good spacial awareness when I drive big cars like this. I can't tell where the actual front of the car is and the back. Plus I have kids, so I'm always worried about hitting toys/bikes, etc.

    I lease my 2014 Impala ltz champagne silver metallic. Ended up putting a little more miles on her then I wanted too but (60,000) overall the car perform without any problems, none, zip. Everyone is to Focus on crossovers , SUVs and pickups. There outselling the full size car 10 to 1 and that is why a good car like the Impala is no more. Ended up buying a fully loaded 2017 Malibu premier (why) rebates were way better, sticker was $36,300 pay under $30,000 couldn't get that kind of deal on the Impala. By the way, the Malibu is the same height same width and only 7 inches shorter and length then the Impala.

    Ive lasted as long as I have with my 2017 impala instead of upgrading because of the horrible back window that it has.
    YET now that I need to upgrade to another car Im feeling that I have to just put up with it now 😒. Cause the impala has so many features that other cars dont have. Hard to find another better. Driven malapus, mustangs, echos, 🤷‍♀️🤷‍♂️

    • @MichelLinschoten
      @MichelLinschoten 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      ashton3002 you have no clue what you’re talking about. It doesn’t sell no more because of the suv market dominating. People want suvs crossovers not sedans.
      That’s the only reason why it declined in sales. Stop pretending a v8 sells so well, matter in fact a v8 sells worse than any other engine choice out there.
      Remember he Chevrolet ss sedan , had it all rear wheel driven over 400hp v8 totally
      Failed
      These days you can get equal power numbers out of a v6 and even a 4 cylinder at lower cost and lower prices and even more so lower mpg numbers vs a v8.

    • @Bartonovich52
      @Bartonovich52 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Why? This thing goes 0-60 in barely over 6 seconds. That means it’s faster than 99% of V8 cars made last century.
      Fuel efficiency is a huge consideration which means even V6s are disappearing.
      Yeah.. there’s a market for V8 sedans.. but it’s very small. V8 Chargers and 300s aren’t the volume sellers for Chrysler.. and the Chevy SS and Pontiac GTO were DOA.

    my 2017 chevy malibu is nicer and cheaper than that car. Mine has a sun/moon roof, really nice 18" rims, all leather and technology packages and more. The screen is nicer and the back looks nicer. Not to mention the cars pleasing looks. The chevy malibu also gets insane gas mileage. So if you're looking into getting an impala, I would urge you to go check out the Chevrolet malibus.

      +A Great Beats A V8? Yowza that's a lot of power for a "family sedan". Well, you kinda got your wish, because Chevy is discontinuing the Impala...I guess they heard you and threw it into the 🗑.

      I’m going to miss the impala but my mother is giving me hers and when these go extinct again, I’m gonna make a lot of money 💰 for my impala

    This Impala has always sold poorly and is largely sold to fleets. It appears it will soon disappear because of lack of demand and new 2018 mid-size sedans will offer much better economy and handling while being just as roomy.
    If you want an older vehicle design like the Impala, the Buick LaCrosse clone is a better buy, as are the Chrysler 300 and Dodge Charger for driving enthusiasts.

      Good to know. This is a really nice car, so I blame Chevy. They should have done a better job showing everyone just how nice this ride is. And as for the 300 and Charger, what do you think of them? The 300 is a little big for my taste and I dislike how little headroom there is (especially in the back seat). The Charger is fun...but I don't think I'd want it as my everyday car. How about you?

      stan marcus the reason being, is because people want the v8 back in it, not the 4-cylinder option

      or when someone bought the car In to get overnight service the dealership should have been renting the impala out instead of so many Malibu's and cruze's that way people maybe would known how nice the impala was
