Take a loan our from the bank for 1.3bar. Buy a flat. Rent it out for R7k a month. Use the rental to pay the installment of the car. Then sell the flat after 6 years. Use the capital gain to pay the balloon :) this way the car is still cost a pretty penny but the overall cost to own is less. what u think muzi?
Bro your math ain’t mathing🤣 so first the bank gives you a loan for 1.3, then you also want them to finance you a car for another 1.3? Then how you gonna use the 7k rental to pay your 20k car installment? And who’s paying back your 1.3 loan in the meantime?😅 there’s also no way you’re making 470k profit from selling the flat in 6 years to cover the balloon. These cars are just way overpriced here. 1.3 mill for an M-lite 3 series is just madness. There’s no way there’s a viable market of people that can genuinely afford these cars to make their pricing make sense. They’re all leaving the dealership floor with outrageous balloon payments, and BMW doesn’t care they get their car back after 3-4 years and can make money on it again by selling it pre-owned. And the consumer? Starts all over again with a new car, perpetually paying monthly for something that’ll never give them any equity…..looks good in the driveway tho innit?
I'm unemployed, don't own a car yet, don't know what I was doin' but I stumbled upon this channel and I'm lovin' it. Great work my guy. Some day your advices will come in handy.
Man, I thoroughly enjoyed this. Glad to see more people speaking sense into this debt fueled South African society. If you can pay off a car in 2-3Yrs, you are living above your means and making someone else rich who can then ACTUALLY afford this car. Definitely going to subscribe.
Car journalism par excellence, with a uniquely South African touch. Thanks for another great review executed with aplomb. Being a Bimmer nut myself, you know your stuff, truly so. Even when I'd rather not "buy a Corsa lite cash every month for six years"... 🤣😂🤣
It’s always good to also factor in costs that are outside of instalments. I always check how much wearables cost in a car like your shocks, tyres, out of warranty parts, potential cost to repair small damages, avg. fuel etc. It’s good to know while a car may cost you R15k p/m in ownership, an ideal +R10k will help you in situations unexpected ownership costs may arise. The people that are complaining about your estimate are the same people that don’t consider other costs excl. instalments.
I think people that buy these sort of cars don't really have an issue with paying for them if you earn 200k per month, they pay them off in 2 years or pay them off for 3 years then BMW calls them back to upgrade at a "reduced cost"
You're right bro..Judges and some senior Advocates are making those figures. You don't have to be an entrepreneur to earn that kind of money, certain professions do offer people that lifestyle
most of them dont even pay them off, or buy them, they just rent them for 3 years with an option of returning it or refinancing it. hence you see them changing cars every 3 years, same for Benz drivers
Found your channel today. I've never come across such a funny car delearship😂u solid African. We appreciate the vibe bra, keeping us entertained while showing us these models
Thank you Mr Sambo for making me realize that I cannot afford my dream car (Kia Sonet) with/without balloon payment. Now I'm searching for a car within my budget.
love the new headlights. also from personal experience this is more than enough power. besides it doesn’t matter what car you have you will only be able to go as fast as the guy in the suzuki swift infront of you 😂😂
Hey Muzi you asked for what’s the difference between this and the older m340i. The changes are more cosmetic rather than a complete redesign. For example with the older gen m340i you couldn’t tell the difference between the 330i with 190kw vs the 340i unless you heard that beautiful b58 6 cylinder passing you like a bullet. I personally hated the drl’s (which one paid extra for)and they have fixed that in the newer gen, there is more air intakes in the front but not too sure if that helps with the 0/60 time… they have definitely got rid of that hideous dark infotainment that was behind with Audi system and adopted a last generation mbux system from Mercedes which I always personally liked. This one is more aggressive and has a meaner stance in general, I think this and the X3 m40i are the best versions of BMW you can currently buy. As for the price guys yes it’s expensive but if people are willing to pay 900k for a stupid GTI then what is R1,4million? Correctly priced in my opinion.
I definitely hear you Man👊, I however feel the previous gen 330i and M340i's grill and bonnet gave a clear difference on the front view and the exhaust shape sound set em apart from the rear. The iDrive 8 in this new 3series is nothing like Mercs mBux. BMW simply put the double screen like Merc did before. Although the iDrive system did not look good with the dark theme in the pre-facelifted BMW's, I found it still way better to use and easier, the new system is even better🙌
You raise very realistic valid points , cars are very expensive. I like the fact that you are not just talking about cars on TH-cam like one can just go out there and buy one after watching the video like most channels out here , there are serious factors to consider for us regular people .
They must start giving you the cars to test drive as well. All of them, any car. We want reviews with a unique South African flavour. I like your channel
depends which BMW you buy. 1M resale is amazing, the M2 was more than excellent, M135i and X5 held well but ey the 3 series was a problem 😀. Great Vid from a BMW fan.
Well 1M is a classic and 135i is a classic cos they came with a stick shift and were light, so good luck getting a stick shift 2 series and M2 if you are not getting the bonkers cs which you won't drive every day
I've been planning on making car reviews like this a couple of years back, before I joined your channel, and weird enough I don't see the point anymore cause you literally display everything I wanted to show people but with a hinch of six gun🔥🔥🔥 great stuff man, 👍
The financial breakdown is absolutely beautiful...I am a bean counter and over analyse every buy, just nje because its that exciting 🤣 Came out of curiosity, stayed for the humour and life lessons
The one thing you will notice about luxury vehicles is that when they facelift they make it subtle so that people who don't have a facelift don't feel left behind. When you look at cars like a VW Polo, when they do a facelift it looks like a whole different car and the non-facelift looks older immediately and looks like an older generation car.
He is warranted in his fears to be honest. Recently car manufacturers are having major reliability issues with their technological components such as the infotainment system, etc. Watch the lemon series.
We are used to knobs and buttons...... they are much easier to control when driving, now everything is embedded in these infotainment systems it makes it a bit hard to use when driving
I am also really not a fan of these big screens these brands put in our dream cars lately😩. The "buying a Corsa lite or Toyota tazz CASH every month of six years" killed me 😂😂😂
Hi Muzi, I am fan of car content in manzi context! Yesterday, I visited a lamborghini and Bentley dealership. I asked them about a guaranteed resale value and they said that the do those provided they get first preference to buy back the car from the client. Now, imagine a scenario where you Finance an Urus worth let's assumes R4.5m for three years, paying instalments to bank worth R100k a month or a total of R3.6m. ballon R1. 5m. Than, the dealer promised to buy back at R 2m. At the end of the deal, you sell back the car to the dealer assuming you never defaulted on a payment. Than, your net present cost of ownership/enjoyment works out to be (R3.6m+1.5m-2m) R2.1m for a car which retailed for R4.5m. I though this was interesting finance arrangement of using a ballon especially when you intend on not owning car and just want to enjoy it for three years... I omitted insurance, maintenance, warranty and fuel because those are a given if you own a car, can't drive it without affording them first... So for the for bmw 340M, one could seek out such an arrangement provided its not their only car and they don't want to own it or lease it if that's the option, at the end of the day cars rarely go up in value, it's all just for convenience and enjoyment...
Great video as always. Just an unpopular request from me... When you mention the engine power in kilowatts, Do you mind at the bottom you also please give figures in horsepower (bph) units, just have it there on the screen and not say it. Thank you.
Dude please share the sound track you were using so we can support the DJ, music like that needs to be kept alive. Great review as well, people don't like hearing they should buy a cheaper car.
I'd choose the pre-lci over this one, anytime any day. I'm with you ka that infortainment-cluster system (whatever it's called), i'm not a fan, even on the merc, i never liked that screen from the moment it was introduced, until they put the current potrait one on the current C-class 😍i like it for the pirates😍 Back to the M340i; the fact that they've done away with the stick is a turn-off for me (i use it a lot on sport mode to change gears manually), i mean really...🙄 as if getting rid of the traditional hand brake was not an insult enough. The rear on this LCi looks a bit loud on the eyes, i'm sure we'll all get used to it. Nice video brotherman ✌🏼
Great video indeed, honestly when you're looking at buying over R 1 million car, cost if ownership shouldn't be an issue unless if you're forcing things like some of the VW folks.
Honestly speaking if one is to finance this car comfortable, they should be at least taking home 90K a month, which is none of us watching this unfortunately, or those that but cash
Yoh comrade I'm with you regarding the screens. They look amazing and futuristic but with my brain I can only imagine the problems you'd have fixing that thing if something should happen

I too, wouldn't buy this. I find myself saying "that's exactly what I would say" as I listen to you speak about this car. I'm fact, I wanna get myself a high mileage 320d, looking forward to your review when you get your high mileage german, might help me when I eventually have the money to get one. Quick calculation for monthly repayments+insurance, just take price of car X 3 and drop off 2 zeros. Eg. R1 000 000 car ,repayments are R30 000. R500 000 car repayments R15000
Hi Muzi can you please make one for an A45s AMG Shem your advices bro are really making some people wish they had seen your videos before buying the cars they have bought

Lol I appreciate these videos so much. My brain doesn't allow me to be great as well. These cars take all the money shame.
Mina I’d pay the money, this thing is worth it ❤. I’ll eat pap and eggs for 5 years 😂.
Also, there are roads in South Africa where you can really chop your car to its maximum, without getting in trouble 😊.
Pap, eggs & Atchaar for 5 years 😂

The violence at the end! Just let us dream in peace man!😃
At this point, it’s a like before even watching
I prefer the pre-facelift mainly because of those front e46 style lights.
