I've played through Crimson Flower, and I'm playing through Azure Moon right now. But as limited as my knowledge of the lore may be at this point, watching 2:17-2:37 helps me really comprehend just how senseless and impossible Edelgard might seem to Dimitri in the thick of war.
The way you draw Edelgard is just... amazing! I don’t know how, but the when she appears, they way you draw her gives off an overwhelming feeling of “this person could crush you in a second.”
THIS IS AN AMAZING ANIMATIC!!! At the beginning, I was like “ohoho is Claude gonna be Theodosia’s ‘husband’??” and then he was and I still gasped. The imagery with Edelgard and chess pieces was really well done-and the color with the red was incredible too. So nice!
I always imagined female byleth with Edelgard and the black eagles just partying the night Byleth gets there or the day they win the battle if the eagle and lion,and it being the byleth twins au so male byleth would be with blue lions ( I may or may not have made a third Byleth sibling so I dont abandon the golden deer).But Golden Deer works amazing aswell!
ive never seen a hamilton animatic taking such creative liberties, and here? with the red? i am SPEECHLESS. i want to take this video, especially that part, and somehow physically insert it in my living beating heart. thats how much I love it
This was genuinely beautiful, and the creativity used is ingenious. The "sinners and the saints" lines being Rhea, Cornelia, and Sothis is so cool. Each one a saint and each one a sinner, as seen between Three Houses and Three Hopes. And the entire chess moment at the end with Edelgard's cold calculating expression but laid back and confident posture. This just nailed everything.
@@AshenDust_ In FE3H lore the original Cornelia was a powerful mage assigned to protect the kingdom, saving the entire land from a raging epidemic that would’ve wiped out the royal bloodline. Those actions reward her the title of Saint Cornelia in the games lore. You are right though, the person who replaces Cornelia called Cleobulus is certainly no saint.
this was absolutely GORGEOUS. i never realized how much this song suited dimitri. i'm gonna be thinking about this one for a while-- thank you so much for sharing. (i got CHILLS when edelgard first appeared. this was great!)

Honestly, I wasn't quite sure which of the three would be the POV character for this, and some of the beauty of this game is that it could really be a song for any of them, especially depending on the route. I would say this could be an Edelgard song when Byleth goes Blue lions, or also a Claude theme... but your art really caught me and made me feel for Dimitri. Really beautiful.

Like being allied with the one who did the actual killing doesn't make you any better there, El. I also just hate when rulers/leaders pull the 'deaths are necessary for the greater good' bullshit. That is so tasteless and tacky a statement that it just results in an automatic loss of respect for anyone I hear say it.
