Very honest review! One thing I really dislike about Jordan 39 is since they put both ZoomX and full-length Zoom Air on the midsole they felt like they needed to cut back on EVERYTHING ELSE. Material, overall design, support system, and even outsole they went the less durable material instead of their XDR stuff which really isn't that expensive to make since they even have an recycled material version of it. Jordan team shoes used to be THE PREMIUM version of their lineups and to see how far they've fallen off feels a bit disappointing. GT Cut 3 is very nice though and I've been rocking them for months and I did twist my feet twice and luckily they were very mild. Compared to Sabrina 1 I definitely feel less secure when I'm wearing cut 3. Great vid as always.
Thanks for your input! I totally agree with you on the decline of Jordanbrand. As you said they used to be the leader in the hoop shoe market, which is something you should expect when you’re making shoes for MJ himself! As you also mentioned it’s weird how they gave us 2 nice cushioning set ups but then went to a full stop for everything else. Maybe if retail was at 130 that would be decent but this is supposed to be the most premium shoe. I have a similar issue with the LeBron 21. They added more „premium“ materials but left out the carbon shank. As to the support of the cut 3- I wear them with BETTERGUARDS ankle braces and that’s been perfect for me. They don’t limit mobility and still secure your ankle if there’s an issue.
I see Jordan Brand putting that X shank in the AJ40 and raise the price to $210 and this will be a killer shoe on court but the price is too high lol. You can also put a sport performance insole and maybe fixes that instability issue. Not sure.
At the price point of both shoes you would expect the best materials for the product they produce but theyre always holding back to get maximum profits for minimal expense. Good thing other brands are competing and hopefully these brands would wake up and not be lazy anymore Ill probably wait for a sale and my pick would be the 39 just because i think the cushion would work out for me. I feel like the AJ39 traction compound material is like gelatin. Sticks to the floor but when you warm the shoe when working out or playing ball the dust collects with the heat of the shoe and that sticky compound material. GT Cuts 3 in the meantime that traction compound material is more on the dry compound not like gelatin though.

Nah I have a pair of them and a few other gt cut 3 colorways they all fit the same they feel a little more stiff cushion wise but once you play in them for like a day or two they’ll feel pretty normal

Nah I have a pair of them and a few other gt cut 3 colorways they all fit the same they feel a little more stiff cushion wise but once you play in them for like a day or two they’ll feel pretty normal
I have the all star colorway but haven’t used them much. Fit feels the same, performance does too so far
