Charlie Chaplin - Essanay Chicago Studio (c) 2001

In early 2001, I followed Charlie Chaplin's footsteps as he left Keystone for Essanay. From Keystone Studio to Essanay Studio Niles. Then to Chicago Essanay Studio. Lots of locations shot during train rides and stops. This is my favorite; Chicago Essanay Studio tour with fellow Chaplin enthusiasts Rick and Jodie.

Thanks for this. I moved from Chicago six months ago and never hunted this down during the twenty years I lived there, despite being a huge Chaplin fan. Well, now I have a reason to go back.

I live in Uptown. I never knew Charlie worked in Chicago. I thought he went straight out to California after he was hired by Max Sennett. This is cool. It was a different Chicago then.
