      Yeah .. For$79 you can get a Viair 88p, that you can run off the car battery and it will air up those 4 tires from 25 to 32 psi in less than 15 minutes. You dunt heavy to worry about maintaining a battery, running out of a battery, or having to replace the whole unit when the battery dies in 3+ years...

    I bought one of these devices couple months ago and have now used it on my mountain bicycle since it is getting warmer here in Illinois. Tires need 50 psi and the inflator device took about a minute on each tire. I will also use the inflator device on my lawn tractor when I start cutting the grass. Probably wont need or use it on my cars. It is a very durable device and does make a chattering sound when in operation. Everything I have Bicycle, Tractor, all work with supplied short air hose - no adaptors needed. Yes, it is a little expensive, but it is worth the money for me.
    All in all it is a great device for what I use it for. Since the device is rechargeable via USB port, takes about a couple hours to fully charge.
    I got tired using a small hand air pump to do tires and didnt need a somewhat heavy air tank compressor to do these tasks.
    take care.

    This little guy is impressive for what’s there. To be fair, in the real world, once you learned it is off 3 psi you would set the compressor at 29 psi so that maybe it would get all 4 tires aired up. It’s a pretty good product to have for emergencies and a nice size for that as well. Lithium batteries hold their power well so you would only have to top up the battery every 3 or 4 months. Another option anyways.

    25 psi isn't worth the hassle for the improvement in traction from 32. More like 18 psi or even lower. So if you had one, you'd probably only get two done in half an hour. Not really that great for frequent use.

    • @Stuka87
      @Stuka87 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Airing down to 25 is to help with the ride, not traction. And if on forest roads or the like, it can make a pretty big difference in ride quality. But waiting 7+ minutes per tire is crazy for regular use.

  • @plus790
    @plus790 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    The Bronco wheel and tire sizes are close. However, the Raptor runs street pressures of 45 PSI. Although 32 will get you to a gas station better than off-road pressures, it is a massive difference in compressor demand. I'm guessing that the charger would have no chance of airing up all four to 45 on a single charge. and even with unlimited charge, would take over an hour to go from 20 to 45.

    Fine for everything but off-roading but that was to be expected. If someone wants to stick with battery and already has Makita tools, their air compressor is a great deal at 99$ normally, on sale sometimes less. I already carry a Makita chainsaw so I have several 5ah batteries on me and airing up 4 tires like in this example uses about 1bar. It's certainly not the fastest but meets my needs just fine.

  • @tom_hoots
    @tom_hoots 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Walmart's "Hart" 20-volt battery system has a couple of inflators that work with its batteries -- more of a "home" system that does a typical, fast job, and a slightly smaller, "portable" one that you have to hang onto while using. Not my first experience with battery-powered inflators, and there are certainly others, but these have won my money. With modern tire pressure monitoring systems, you truly can limp along with a battery-powered inflator in your vehicle, until you can get to the tire store you prefer, and get a proper repair done.

  • @-Jethro-
    @-Jethro- 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Anything that takes more than 3 to 5 minutes per tire (for real off road tires like 33” - 37”) isn’t really useable. There are plenty of good 12V options out there. There’s no need to bother with gimmicky stuff like this.

    Doesn't really seem fair, if you started testing right out the package?
    Lots of devices will show a full charge, till you actually use it for a bit. It's been sitting in a box for who-knows-how-long... It will have lost some power.
    So it loosing half it's power in the first test, is probably because that power wasn't even there.
    Unless you charged it, but didn't tell?

    Cool product, no doubt on that! - BUT - My little flashlight was free at Harbor Freight, my 4000mA USB-C battery pack was $5 and came with a cord, and my no-nonsense portable air compressor was $7 on clearance, will air up any tire/ball/mattress, has a 75% duty cycle and can hook to any 12V battery and 110V power source. There are just some things in life that are “expensive tastes.”
    BTW - DUTY CYCLE is very important with compressors and there is ZERO information on this online. That’s an absolute “walk away” without this info.

    Looks sleek but it really doesn't seem like a good value. You would need a very specific use case to need a battery powered pump for a car. Normally you use the pump when you need it, which means having a battery is actually a problem. You are likely to let something like this sit for months on end until you actually get a flat which at that point the battery will probably be dead. For my money I would just get a well ventilated, cigarette lighter outlet powered, basic unit. Every one I've bought that way is still working today which is great value.
