We are getting 20cm of rain so that might be a great test on a mini Fundy Footpath trail of 13km. Usually that trail takes 4-5 hours as the inclines and declines are quite severe. Still debating as it is classified as a mini storm. But this next hike will be part of my unique gear review that I will be doing. Scripted and all.
In the "Appalachian Trail 2017 Pack List" video she said her boots were made by Ahnu. She didn't say which model, but they look to me like Montara, rather than Sugarpine.

try this spray some camp dry on your pack in places that can get wet

David U they are actually the sugarpine :) it's a little hard to tell with how muddy they are! Ha ha.
