    Excellent. My homes bases used to be GNOSS and Petaluma. Was fun to see the old neighborhood again. Nice job. Nice plane.

    Thank you for making this, I have an RV7 GRT HXr 650xi and Tru track 365. I would like start instrument training but need to learn the equipment. Would love to see more. Found you on Vans Airforce.

    When I did my IFR cross country it was neat once I got around Santa Rosa to see all the Peanuts fixes around there.
    The flying your doing here is the reason why I'm working on my IFR rating. To be able to take off and travel with the thin marine layer, and then once on top its oceans of clouds below.

      I would love to meet up! I'm pretty close to the airport and look for any excuse to go fly. You will love the 7. Same cockpit as a nine with different wings.

    I thought that power is for altitude and pitch is for speed?

      VFR it most definitely is! When you're tracking a needle in IFR for me it flips. I use pitch to follow the needle and power to dictate my speed. I'm not saying my way is the right way. There is more than one right way here. For me in this plane it works really well. Thanks for giving it a watch!

    working on the IFR rating now. first time getting on top in actual IFR the other day, it is remarkable. BTW, filter for the camera? the scrolling lines are not visible, great video.

      Real IMC is so much different. I was lucky I had an instructor who wanted to teach in it. Good for you for getting after it! I ended up not suing a filter and just changing the frame rate on the panel cam to 30fps. It fixed the problem. Thanks again for watching and the feedback!

    Nicely done. I’ve been flying my RV-9A since 2012 based out of RHV. How did you get the cameras to pan?

      The camera records 360 degrees of video. When editing it after the flight you can pan and zoom with the gopro software or in my video editing program. Its pretty slick. Thanks for giving it a watch!!

    Hey Peter... just came across your videos - I fly out of Hayward. In looking at your video the GTN 650 stayed in GPS mode during the approach - I never did see you activate the approach. How come it never went into VLOC mode, or does the GRT handle that part of the approach? Mine goes into VLOC mode automatically as soon as I intercept the final approach course.

      Excellent eye! The GRT reads both GPS and VLOC info at the same time. So as soon as you intercept the final approach course the GRT switches modes and the GTN does not have to do anything. Its kinda trick.

    hi from Belgium! What is the green arc showing on the HSI at 19:28’ ?

      Hello Arno! The green line is the GRT letting you know on the map or hsi where you will hit your selected altitude. Its pretty cool especially when you have a waypoint dialed in and you need to be at a certain altitude by it. You select your altitude and descent rate and the green line will let you know when you will get there. I hope this helped and thanks for giving the video a watch!
