Forgot to say how lovely you looked in all your photographs as a young girl and woman, I’m so pleased you showed them to us. It’s nice to hear the back story to your stories. Love the pink jumper. What’s the blond wig, I think you had soft & subtle but not sure if it’s that. Whatever it looks great put up, xx
No Linda, it was the same wig I tried on earlier - Larissa by Belle Madame. I simply used a pearl clip to put it up at the back. I loved the look of the pink with the blonde of the wig too. Btw, thanks for sticking up for me when that lady said my hair is scraggly. I mean we do know my hair is scraggly, isn’t that the whole point of the channel?!!! 😂
Hi Karima, Lovely to hear from you again. I hope you and Steve had a wonderful Christmas together. Magical time when you have a small granddaughter. You have been my inspiration and comfort over the last few years. I have laughed and cried along with you and certainly understand the pain of hair loss and all the other feelings that go along with it. I can liken it to a coloured photograph that is turning into a negative and fading away and wearing a wig is like putting the colour back into it. These days I really could not go out unless I was wearing my hair. It makes me look and feel so much more confident and definitely takes a few years off me which has to be a good thing, right? Here is to a great Happy New Year to you and Steve and look forward to more vlogs in 2025, 🥂lots love, xx
Hi Linda, thanks so much. We did have a nice Christmas this year but of course I was totally caught up in all the madness despite thinking I would escape it. It was lovely to watch my grand daughters's face light up with all the gifts though. Steve loved it too. I really love your analogy about the picture fading away. That's really very close to how I actually felt when the colour just left me. But now it's back and thank heaven for it. Here's to the new year, I'm wishing you all the very best xx
It was advised for me to go to counseling over my problem with my hair. I have no bald spots, but my hair is so baby fine and thin it has caused me not to have confidence. Now that I have found wigs and toppers it’s amazing my happiness and confidence. I’ll spend my money on helper hair before talking to a counselor who will advise me to just accept my thin hair.
And you are now part of an online community of women who know just what you’ve been through. I agree, I would rather spend my money on Hair rather than counselling too. Or all those lotions and potions to try and ‘grow hair back’, which I doubt will ever happen. I wish you the very best for the new year xx
Your feelings are completely valid, and it’s wonderful that you’ve found something that brings you happiness and confidence. Hair can have such a deep impact on how we see ourselves, and it’s empowering to take steps that help you feel your best.🙂💛
Hi Karima. Glad to see you're over that nasty bug. Thanks so much for this video. You always lift my spirit. I love your positive outlook in particular to hairloss. Ive had my hair thinning for about 12 years now. Some days I'm ok with it other days I still mourn how I used to look. You're videos give me so much hope. I think in the new year Im going to be more adventurous with my toppers & try new styles & maybe colours too. Im 67 but Im not giving up with my appearance, just yet. Im told I look younger but I'm always wearing my toppers when friends tell me this. I look old without them. Anyway I wish you a very happy & health 2025 & I look forward to all your uplifting & informative videos to come. Take care 🥰 xx
Oh goodness, I know just how you feel. They do make us look so much younger. But I'm ok with that because I have a strict delineation between the 'public' me and the 'private' me. Hardly anyone other than my husband and children see me without hair now. In fact people have forgotten the last time they saw my natural hair and say that they no longer think about my hair at all..they just think I look nice. I agree that you should do a bit of experimenting with your styles and colours, why not. It's so much fun. Here's to 2025 xx sending lots of love xx
What a beautiful and inspirational video. I love your story and how comfortable you’ve become with yourself and your wig journey. I so appreciate your channel….thank you so much! 💜❤️🩷
Hello again, thanks so much for your supprot over the last year. It's taken me so long to 'come back to myself' so to speak. When I look back at those pictures I feel sad that I was such a lost soul in those days, although I had plentiful hair lol. i'm much happier now and really love wearing hair most of the time. I'm so glad you get something out of the channel, thanks so much xx

You are beautiful, younger and now. But I totally identify with your hair journey, including the little patch that heralded hair loss. I used Rogaine and Toppik powders to disguise what was happening, I wear toppers now, and never had hair as good as my toppers are. I lwish I had discovered it earlier. I love watching you and your amazing personality and beauty.. Love you!! thanks for doing this.
That's a lovely thing to say. I'm really very glad I'm helping in some small way. You know, when I first put on my first wig I was truly horrified! It looked so heavy and dark and just too thick. I thought it was so unatural and it took me ages to muster up the courage to wear it out. In fact right at the start of my channel i filmed myself out with Steve taking the dog for a walk. I was petrified! So I do know how you feel. Just out of interest which wig is your favourite? Hope you have a wonderful new year and maybe it will be the year you start to wear you hair in public!
Karina, I have been going through hair loss, as you since 1998, much in same as you. In fact my hair is much the same look as yours, except you have kept your length, I have shaved mine several times. I tried to see what it would do if I quit shaving it. It grows very much same as yours. By the way, it is funny you mention reflexology, I am a reflexologist. I took seminars and training, even started an office for a while when was younger. It really works. I enjoy your channel and listening to you. I hope you had a wonderful Christmas, and a great New Year. I think you have much good wisdom. Dixie 😊🙏❣
I really enjoyed the reflexology the other day. It must have been quite a relaxing job to do, did you have a steady stream of clients? Also, did you enjoy having a shaved head? I did want to shave mine but then I wouldn't have been able to wear my toppers that I love so much. I often wish I wasn't 'cursed' with my hair problems, I really wish I had lovely thick hair, but it's just not to be...unless, maybe one day they invent some miracle cure. Anyway, thanks for your lovely comment and support over the last year. See you soon xx

That's so sweet of you Jean. Yes, I was quite under the weather last time. And it seems today I've gone down with something else! There are so many sick people at the moment, is it the same where you are? I was very busy coming up to Christmas as you can imagine...and I was totally caught up int he madness, despite swearing I wouldn't be this year. I spent loads of money but it was a nice family time. What was your Christmas like this year. How are you feeling about the upcoming year? I feel quite daunted about it, there have been so mnay strange events in the world recently, one wonders where it will all end! Wishing you all the best xx
@lifeandhair Greetings Karima! Christmas was spent at my son's house with family and thankfully, it went really well. Yes, I too wonder what the new year will hold. I wish you good health and perfect joy! Love and blessings ♥️🙏
Happy New Year, Karima ! Thank you for this video. It has resonated with me for so many reasons and in so many ways. Firstly, we have very similar hair loss, including when the hair loss began. It has been 40 years of a steady decline to the point where I will not leave the house without wearing hair or a head covering (hat, tichel, whatever) of some sort. BTW, you were (and still are) so lovely in your "baby" pictures! I say that because you look like a teenager when you were in your 20s. At this point in my life, I am grateful to be in this realm, since so many I know have departed to the next. When I first started to lose my hair, in my early 20s, I was beyond panicked, utterly devastated and went through what everyone with hair loss does, all the attempts, in vain, to remedy it, e.g., vitamins, supplements, lotions, potions, topicals, powders, toppik, serums, special diets, shampoos, conditioners, apple cider vinegar rinses, rice water . . . I mean the list is almost endless. Alas, most of us have all been through it. Now, I love "my hair," all of my wigs, how I make them my own; how different I feel in each of them. Like you, I love to accessorize, change it up, experiment with different make-up tones, lipsticks, etc., albeit, I do not wear a lot of make-up, but it is fun to change things up. Yes, I agree: I feel so "put together" when I finally put on my wig, and my make-up is on point, and my clothing/accessories are "just-so." Thank you for showing us your soft underbelly, which empowers us all on this journey of not just hair loss and wig wearing, but navigating through this life as a woman. Blessings to you and yours for an outstanding 2025.
Oh I so wish you lived in my town! I would love to know another woman who wears hair like I do....and enjoys it! It's amazing that you followed the same patter that I did with the hair thinning. Again, apart from a couple of family members I don't know anyone else who has gone through it. I feel really quite alone in tht respect. I often say to Steve how sad I am that my hair is in the state it's in, he says 'no-one is perfect darling'. He's been so great about it all, and often seems as excited as I am to see what hair I'll be wearing every day. Like you I tried everything to avoid my hair loss, but nothing worked. Just think how awful it would be if we couldn't get hold of wigs to wear...what would we do?! I'm sending lots of love and wishing you the best new year xx
@@lifeandhair Likewise, Karima ! It is remarkable that our HL trajectory is very similar. I do not have any family members who have experienced what I have, and I had five sisters (one is passed away). Even my brothers (one deceased) have/had full heads of hair well into their 60s. None of my grandmothers, aunts, siblings, nieces, great-nieces, etc., had/have it either. I am the only one. I do live in a US city where lots and lots of people wear hair, though. Many weaves, installs, etc. How I wish, too, that we lived closer, we can have tea, go shopping, chat, etc. Your husband is so very supportive. Mine is, as well. I have worn hair of all types for 20 years, but the last two years, my HL has progressed to such an extent, I wear full wigs and/or head coverings whenever I go out the door -- even to take out the trash! I am grateful for all the choices these days and how the wig technology and cap features have advanced in leaps and bounds. Just a thought: My husband's favorite wig on me is PY Heidi ! I wear her in Vanilla Swirl (I do trim a couple of inches off, so she more closely matches the lengths of my other wigs). She is what I call my "plug and chug" wig (expression borrowed from Taz). She is so lightweight; looks great in half-up/half-down, a low-ponytail, etc. I wear her for everyday (and even going out in the evening sometimes). I have wigs that cost many times more than Heidi, but my husband loves it the best -- funny, those fellas ! I also have been wearing Mane Attraction Showgirl in Sunflower, and have ordered Envy's Bobbi in Silky Beige, all which are interchangeable. I just saw a review on Beth's Best Hair for Hope, and I MUST get her in Golden Meadow. When I had my hair, it was very curly like Hope, although a bit longer. I understand that there is a (U.S.) mid-west wig wearers' conference, that they had their first one not too long ago. I would love to attend their next one. I'm not on social media, so I would have to reach out to either Beth, Denise or Taz to see if/when they will have another. Wouldn't it be fun to all meet up? Have a blessed 2025 New Year. I look forward to your future content, make-up and style tips, wig reviews, and chatting it up. XOXO
Mmm, I know what you mean, but then again no-one really sees it. Thankfully I don't go out in public with it on show. I show it on this channel to show others what I'm dealing with.
XOXO
I actually see beautiful eyes & a very pretty woman love from Florence 🇬🇧🇫🇷♥️🌹
I wouldn't have the hair long and scraggly like that.
OK
That’s obviously your personal opinion but sounds a little blunt to me.
Mmm, I know what you mean, but then again no-one really sees it. Thankfully I don't go out in public with it on show. I show it on this channel to show others what I'm dealing with. Believe me Eileen, there is NOTHING I can do to my natural hair that would make it look better. It is long. It is scraggly. Get over it x
