  • I've recently bought my second Nissan 300zx (1992 Twin Turbo).
This video is buyers guide to what to look out for when buying a Z32 Nissan 300zx Twin Turbo or NA.
This Nissan 300zx buyers guide is based purely on my experience of ownership of a couple of these cars.

You get to the O2 sensors by putting the car on a lift. Just like any car, working on it is as a PITA as you make it. Just one nut and bolt at a time as I've eloquently been told.

Such a good video. Unfortunately, I have bought a 300zx which seems to have multiple problems with it, and I can't find anyone who wants to fix it.

I had a couple back in the day. My family mechanic hated working on it. Everything is tight in there and not much room to work. I loved those cars though. Good luck with it and hope you find a good mechanic for it.

Unfortunately this is something I've found with these cars even when I had my first one circa 15 years ago.
There's not many "old skool" mechanics who want to work on cars anymore, they just want to plug in the OBD reader and clear fault codes.
The 300zx is a car you end up either researching the issues yourself and coming up with a solution and either then going to a garage and telling them how to fix it or fixing it or yourself. Or you have to take it to a specialist.
Luckily there is a good online community of Facebook groups of owners of 300zx.
Also in the UK there is a specialist ( Powerzed) in Bristol, when I had my first 300zx there was also Zedworld in Birmingham, but they no longer exist.
You also have Luke at Zcentre who doesn't do work on these cars, but does sell a range of parts for them and has a vast knowledge for advise.
There is also Iffy who is on most 300zx FB groups who is a breaker of these cars based in Birmingham.
If you're in the USA you have Z1 and Concept Z who are specialists.

I have 300zx twin turbo got coolant leak from driverside turbo. Which is big job but i heard you can remove coolant delete but not sure about that. Also finding someone wants to work on it if very hard 😢

i’m worried about my sill drains for the T-tops. would it be a bad idea to mastic them shut at the roof entrance? the car is always covered and never driven in the rain. tbh it’s been off the road since 2016 anyway

I wouldn't mastic them because the water will work its way in through the roof/window seal then

Hi there, i've had my 1990 300ZX TT as a second car for over 25years, recently just had it's water pump replaced as it was leaking, but since getting the car back the engine just isn't itself; different sounds, vibration in the stick (manual), engine somewhat straining, not idling right, not free-revving, some mechanical clutter noise at times upon revs/3000+, and i think some loss of power. My mechanic says they didn't touch the timing belt and worked around it to do the job. What you think could be going on here? thanks..
