My dad was an instructor at Winona State in the late 60s, early 70s. Lots of great memories from my childhood. I loved the annual Steamboat Days event.
@7:59 this is an effortless and yet important Minnesotan shibboleth: slap on the back meaning “get outta town!”. Or, “that is so incredible I almost might not believe you if I don’t know any better”. I love Minnesota.
I used to land survey for the City of Winona Engr. Dept.. I loved it, saw so many beautiful areas, especially the ravines. Deer all over the place, just gorgeous. m
The woman at Yarnology that is wearing the scarf also works as a server at Nosh Scratch Kitchen which was also featured on this show. Just a fun little fact.
I live here and I never knew that I could visit a taxidermied ostrich here! (But seriously, so many buildings I drive by regularly and haven’t gotten to visit yet!!)

Winona is such a gem of a little town. We are so blessed to live near it!
The entire approach to this gem, bluffs, etc is really something. The rest is stunning.
