- Wayman Tisdale discusses his fight against cancer that forced him to have his leg amputated, and eventually took his life. No smile was as genuine than Wayman Tisdale. You would have to look long and hard to find a better man than he was. May he live forever beside the Lord! The world has lost one of its best men.
Strongman, Real Man, I needed to see this. In the end all we have is God.
Wayman was one of my favorite Suns. His music was good too. God bless you Wayman! Thanks for sharing your talents

I didn't know much about Wayman until seeing him perform on a beautiful summer evening on the Chicago lakefront a few years back. He brought incredible energy to that stage, and had the entire audience feeling like we were all each other's friends. It was obvious that, in addition to being a wonderful musician, Wayman had a zest for life and just oozed sheer joy. A very special man indeed, one to be emulated for many reasons. May God bless his family. Heaven is one funky party tonight.
Why does this have to happen to good people like this man truly was? Thank you for the great music we Jazz music fans will continue to enjoy. Rest in peace my brother, you will be missed.
Here I am complaining about everything under the book, and this brother just taught me something today..."Quitting is not an option".
RIP Wayman and jam in Heaven buddy!!! :-)
Wayman was a force and a gentle spirit. As a professional NBA player and bass player his impact will be felt for many years to come. I am honored to have had the opportunity to meet him in my travels.
I can only strive to be as brave as Mr. Tisdale......R.l.P and may many blessings go out to his family. I've listen to his music for years, but I didn't know that he had passed on.....he was a true talent, thank you.
An amazing story, amazing determination, amazing smile...never give up, what a great message
You have filled this world much inspiration with your great God-given talents. Now the you have WON your battle, and as you return back to our Father, may you find happiness and peace with God.

Wayman tisdale's passing really saddened me! He was a great ballplayer, a great musician and, more than that, a great human being! Our loss is Heaven's gain without a doubt!
Whoa! Thanks big time for posting this inspirational video. I'd heard and enjoyed his music. Didn't know he was a basketball player or such an awesome man. I 'm not struggling with cancer, but his encouragement and learning through this has strengthened and encouraged me to "Never give up , Quiting is not an option". Until that last breath, I'll keep fighting my fight to overcome my stuff. I pray continued blessings to the Tisdale family. Thank you Bruh. Thank God for your life and family.
After he spent about five minutes talking with me as an autograph seeker after an OU game, he took my team schedule and made sure the whole team autographed it. Five minutes with my hero and one of the greatest human souls I ever encountered changed my life. I miss you Wayman.
When I heard the news from my son while I was at work I was devastated & saddened. Me and the wife had just saw him performed 4/25/09 at the City of Lights Jazz Festival in Las Vegas. Im tearing as Im writing this, but he had us all on our feet when he did a medley of old school songs near the end of his performance. Words can't express how I fell but to Regina and your children keep the faith, and may God continue to bless you. I will miss you Wayman but your music will be with us for ever.
Thank you Wayman, for inspiring me to get better with music...We will honor you always...God bless your family.
I grew up in Enid Oklahoma and I watched him since he was a freshman at Oklahoma he was such an inspiration we all loved him I can't even finish watching this feature on him it breaks my heart
Brother Tis my heart is heavy but memories are full joy. Tis on the court for the Kings and that special day at Moon Studio you were always full of joy.
I was unaware of this news. My sister got me an autographed copy of "Way Up" in Austin, Texas. Love it and this man's spirit! Keep the Faith!
I met him once here in town at a arts festival. It had not started yet and he was warming up alone. I was talking to someone asking when the show started and Wayman replied 7 sweetheart. A dear man. May he rest is peace!!!
Wayman, Thank you so much for making me realize how to live life, and how to treat others. You are the definition of class, hope, and love.

When I was a kid my father was in the Air Force and we were stationed just outside of Oklahoma City from 1980-1984. He was then transferred to a military base in Sacramento so I got to see Wayman play a lot throughut his career. As great of a player he was on the court, he was 100 times a better human being. Wayman's positive spirit is an inspiration to all of us. RIP Wayman.

Unfortunately he lost the battle now. I feel so terrible. I grew up watching him play ball with the Suns, I also know he was on the Kings. I have some of his basketball cards. He was a solid player. I saw this segment on ESPN, and was truly touched.
R.I.P. Wayman Tisdale.
RIP. One of my father's favorite people ever to live. :-/.
This is so sad. RIP Wayman go be with God.
I am so hurt to hear about Wayman Tisdale's death. I remember his early days in the NBA when he played for Indiana. I had a major crush on him back then. But then over the years, I'd lost touch with his NBA career. I had heard that he played music. It seemed to be a great love in his life. It is simply tragic for such a great man to leave this earth so soon. I send prayers to his family and friends.
Rest In Peace Wayman You Were An Amazing Man
Ive had the opportunity to have two conversations with Wayman, once at the Michael Jordan camp with Marcus Miller at UCSB and another time at a Marcus Miller concert at UCLA. Im a fellow bass player and he did not hold back his knowledge in discussing the instrument with me. He was a very down to earth person, just an all around great guy. He will be missed. My regards to the Tisdale family, friends and fans. (Revelation 21: 1- 5)
Greatful to see him at City Lights Jazz Festival.
Watched his documentary it will make you appreciate life itself.

Brilliant Guy.....
Wayman ... was a good guy. Ooooh man ... he was good.
I saw him in concert with Doc Powell at a benefit concert for cancer ... he was healthy then. He stole the show ... nearly broke his bass.
x
RIP Wayman, God has him a new bass player!
this vieo shows two things,
One as humans our s>irit is undefeatable, and second...cancer sucks hard. I have lost a lot of loved onestoo it, and this video has brought them back. One of the few youtube videos that have brought tears too my eyes.
R.I.P Wayman Tisdale...
We will miss you...
I couldn't believe it when he passed - I thought he was going to make it. I was recently diagnosed and was in the hospital with diabetes when I heard about his amputation; naturally this idea was scary for both of us. Thankfully for me, I no longer need insulin and am thus far maintaining control with pills.Hopefully this means that I won't eventually lose a leg. I desperately wish there could have been a pill to help Wayman. 4000 attended his funeral yesterday. It was broadcast online.
RIP Wayman, God Bless.
What a God-given talents
Rest in peace Brother.

When we buy cleaning products for our homes, we really only expect them to do one thing: clean. The truth behind the matter is that many of the general cleaning products you find in most households are toxic, if not potentially fatal.
