Please just try to follow the instructions carefully and step by step - and of course, you should be aware that it is necessary to add the extra plate for using the gimbal together with cameras like GoPro!! The additional plate should be contained in your package!!!

Yes, an action camera should be balanced so it can be perfectly aligned with the motors and sensors on the gimbal. If you don't balance it, you might see som sluggish performance, and some confusion within the gimbal.
