@@picklesdidsell_6816yeah the max is just way too strong even on the modified shot that I bowl on for Tuesday nights. It would get so forward and start burn up by the 5th or 6th frame.
@@dantemack6323 another two to look at if u dont want something as strong as that would be the hammer effect tour, and the x-cell if you can find one, both great solid balls that arent as strong as the ion max.
I immediately pre-ordered once this was announced. I may have to get a VEBO and Blackout just to have an all black bag for league! Was a big fan of the Proton and Infinite was one of my favorite balls.
It's so funny, because I was actually planning on having my pso drill another Proton that I had stashed from years ago, and now I think I'll have to add this as a perfect step down. Literally could not have been announced at a better time.
this ball rolls good.. gonna drill another one and polish it before drilling. Have one Pin 5 3/8 Mass 4 3/8, Pin Up. Had a 289 and 288 this week already OOB finish
1:08 "The good bowlers like one-colored bowling balls" - I find it much harder to see rotation / tilt on balls with a single color (or multiple similar colors). Honest question, do good bowlers not watch the roll and only go by feel? Edit: and here we go 4:46. So isn't the single color worse exactly for this reason?
Can't wait to see u and beef throw some Power Edge on it. My Marvel Maxx w NeX Hybrid digs just fine w regular 1500 polish on it but still has alil more pop off the dry then when sanded (I've tried mine at several surfaces 500-polish, on my 3rd M Maxx)
I have to admit, I wasn’t too excited about this Physix Blackout cause of t has the NEX Cover on it and I really struggled with the Proton Physix, but seeing Chris Barnes throw it I think my opinion of that ball changed.
@@srellessemajI wouldn’t say so. Other than ion max - this is going to be your strongest ball in the bag. Super big continuation window which means it’s going to be good for a lot of styles and a lot of patterns
I got to say I'm not too impressed with the physix blackout because it reminds me of the Roto Grip uc2 and the virtual energy blackout both go too long and are too sharp at the back end. not really usable .all black balls seem to go too long with lots of over under. Definitely not buying this ball
I’ve been needing a strong solid in my bag and this thing just appears out of nowhere… I love it 😆
It’s not a solid. It’s actually a pearl with a 2000 grit finish
if u want a strong solid look at the ion max, ball is super strong and almost too strong on most conditions

@@dantemack6323 look at the hammer effect tour, ball is great and still reacts like a big solid, just stores more energy in the mid lane.
Instantly going in my bag. Was really wanting an NEX pearl asym, was hoping they would use that on the ion max core but this is a pleasant surprise.

Will the Amplified Inertia outer core be the standard across all mid- to high-performance bowling balls across the SPI brand family from now on?
Great video Chris!! Thoughts on this & AS S2?

I hate the astro physix too
Tbh, most of the time chris reviews a ball. It will looks good and made me wanna buy it
Looks like a Dark Code but a 2024 version.
With the cover and surface prep, this is a big step up from Dark Code. Dark code is much closer to Vebo
@@BeefandBarnzyis this a similar shape to the VEBO but just stronger?
@@BeefandBarnzy I suppose I can see it being a good ball in the blend/stretch. Not so much when there is a lot of friction downlane.

I like the jersey 🇯🇪
How does this compare to the Attention Star? I start with Ion Max n ball down to Attention Star.
Will be in between those 2
Do you dig your fingers in more then I guess what is considered normal. ?
Who’s that hottie on lane 3 (it’s actually me, I saw that he was recording so I found his channel)

Tough getting around that stuffing above the belt .... looking a little more Tommy Hess than Tommy Jones.
(Stu roast him)
Just busting the walnuts
should have had him on lane 4.
ungh... a horrific person. I remember him throwing michelle feldman's bolwing ball bag against the wall at the US open. He's super mean.
Remember to knock the shine off before reviewing balls
This ball comes dull
??? This is Cb. I throw them out of box whenever possible. And if I do change - I will tell you.
