Sam asks that very question when it comes to workplace culture at Boston's recent Disrupt HR, armed with a guitar, humor, and a concept built from 15 years of managing people.
These events are designed to shake up the way leaders can impact talent, culture, and technology.
Sam had the crowd of professionals clapping and cheering to his rendition of The Who's "Won't Get Fooled Again," proving his point that injecting a little fun into the office engages employees and creates a better place to work.

Sam, lose the HR Word Salad - you will keep the audience engaged more if you speak plainly. You wonder why workers are not engaged? It isnt rocket science, you pay employees a living wage and dont lay them off, especially when the company posts record profits. You dont give your CEO 300x compensation when the employees are struggling to afford food and rent. You dont waste peoples time with these sorts of events and speeches. Get back to work. Treat everyone with respect. Your goals of retention and employee happiness will naturally fulfill themselves if you do all these things.
