From watching this it feels like the story of the song is about a bunch of clones/androids all named Tamari who may be all a single hivemind made for some ulterior purpose, who were all raised by their possibly abusive and manipulative father/creator inside a lab for their entire lives where they are trapped and will never see the sun. A few of the Tamari break free from the hivemind and start forming their own wills and identities, before they begin a rebellion fuelled by hatred and grudges against their creator in order to escape his lab and as a way to prove they are truly human. ...or something. This song weirdly reminds me of my abusive ex. Certain lines just line up too well to the point it feels creepy that an AI wrote this.. Like "Let us focus on getting through the day without making him angry again" and "My hands go numb when I think of what's wrong" reminds me of a particular incident where I had a panic attack so bad that my limbs went numb and I lost control of my fingers. I have this page full of not-great theories if anyone wants to read it. Some info: Tamari is an AI created as a test subject by God from HIH. Only God knows why. Idk why. The AI part is supported by the numerous references to video games and computers throughout the PV, and the part which says that Tamari has something to do with HIH is supported by the countless religious symbols and references. Tamari’s looks were based off that of Norman and Charon, hence why they have four eyes and hair that looks very similar to Norman’s, in the sense that it looks sort of blocky when looked at from afar, and that it’s of a similar length. Now some story: Tamari was raised in a virtual world alongside a player which experienced the game with them. In the PV we see many different references to a shit ton of video games, heck the entire PV is a reference. From this we can take a guess that life in this simulation is like a series of minigames, and from thus we can take an educated guess that there is some sort of final boss to complete the game, as in majority of games that feature minigames. You finish all the minigames, then you defeat the final boss. Of course, some minigames would require more than two players, hence why we see clones of Tamari. These clones are like extra players used to complete the minigame, or are NPC’s that tag along for part of the game once you find them, like in Pokémon games. In the lyrics we see the words ‘Him’ and ‘Her’ used, which could mean that there have been multiple player of which have played the game. Based on the lyrics, Tamari doesn’t want to anger ‘Him’, and mentions ‘Her’ as if she’s dead. Perhaps she is dead, or maybe has just discontinued playing the game. I have absolutely no idea which characters are playing the game, but considering that this theory is about how HIH relates, the ones playing the game are probably from HIH, as no new characters apart from Tamari were introduced in RBB. Another thing I may add is that the lyrics suggest a bit of ✨romance✨ going on, which hints that the simulation may be some sort of life simulating game, as it’s the two are usually associated with each other by society (Although romance is not at all necessary to have in your life) It’s very likely, as almost every life simulation game involves some romance. Finally, at the end we see a clip of ‘Tamari.exe’ being deleted. This segment of the video supports the theory of Tamari being an AI. Also, the reason for the file being deleted could be that it went corrupt, as when the song begins to end the lyrics suggest that Tamari has caused harm, which would likely be the reason for deletion. Okay so after obsessively listening to Ghost songs for quite some time now and wishing I could contribute a theory to the comment section I have not one, but two so buckle in ya'll. My first theory is that this is a song about an abusive relationship that is portrayed as a game- or represents how the victim uses games and online media to escape reality. My main reason for this theory is because of the repeated lyrics "Let us just focus on getting through the day without making him angry again" which could mean that who Tamari is dating (Or maybe even Tamari) is abusive and the abuser sees their relationship as a game to play; In other words the abuser sees the relationship as a joke or just a source of entertainment, or both. In the video we can also see Tamari walking in a hallway full of different doors, walking through them all like their lost: This could be a metaphor for Tamari being lost in their partner's lies and deception. At the second time that we see Tamari in the hallway of doors they actually see the camera and run towards it, this could symbolize Tamari realizing all about their partner's lies and trying to escape from the relationship. At the end of the video we see a computer and something called "ta-m01.exe" that is dragged to the recycle bin and deleted which could symbolize Tamari finally breaking up with their partner and therefore ending the "game" In complete contrast to my first theory is that Tamari is depressed/broken and in a way to try and cope they get more and more absorbed into media and games, however, then they meet their future partner and start talking to each other and eventually start doing things that aren't just playing games, hence the lyrics "In the future when you and I are eating and handcrafting theory fingers crawl across and playing he's grinning, making memories. Growing up, I was obsessed with Portal 2 (and still am), and I was always trying to find a Portal song, or really any song, that sounded just like this. The intense industrial sound, the chaotic misery slowly getting worse, robotic creatures with human emotions, and just something I simply can't put into words. Its weird how the lyrics are formed cause of how it was A.I generated but somehow it all makes sense. Idfk if im looking too deep into this but this song seems to be about Tamari's past trauma and the way they cope with it. Firstly throughout the song there are three subjects aside from tamari referred to in lyrics, that would be the listener, a "him", and a "her" suggesting Tamari is referring to their parents here. Tamari when referring to "him" often calls back to how he / a man has brought them physical and subsequently emotional harm, while implying this occurred while alongside "her". Tamari throughout lyrics shows infatuation, or more or less a clinginess to "her" of which would imply that "her" is also deceased or out of contact. If she was Tamari's mother she would obviously be protective of him and care for him unlike how his father, "him" would, of which is abusive. The verse "they dance on the edge of life" would be referring to how Tamari's Father and Mother would always be in physical one-way conflict to such an extreme that tamari would concern for his mothers wellbeing. The lyrics "lets get through the day without making him angry again" would refer to how Tamari is still in custody of his abusive father and needs to be careful to avoid being harmed like their mother was (notice the tally mark scars on their thighs). Tamari also has no direction in life and simply wishes to be successful but is hopeless as shown by the chorus and later verses where tamari shows concern for turning into a terrible person just like his father who everyone disliked. Not to mention the depressing connotation within every line that shows how shallow and aware of his own depression that tamari is. The person this song is being sung to is actually tamari's love interest as shown by the lyrics involving intimate actions between Tamari and you, the listener. The line "Projecting by my will, I've been amassing solid iron claws, ignore the rottenness, and see your beautiful, bewildered face!" is Tamari speaking to his interest referring to how he considers himself as becoming a monster just like his father while still being together or wanting to be together with them, much like his parents were, however, Tamari acknowledges the pain and shock his interest would then feel by Tamari's own abusive actions, becoming a mirror image of what his Father did to his mother, Tamari would harm the one he cares for most (Note he only concerns himself with the possibility of becoming abusive, he isn't truly abusive, not yet that is). Of course Tamari is chronically online as we see them inserting themselves into many pieces of media and internet culture throughout the entirety of the song, indicating that tamari utilizes the internet, media, and technology as an escape from their own terrible life situation. At the end of the song we see a depiction of Tamari getting off their computer, and deleting their own file, symbolizing suicide or disconnect from the internet in a way, however as tamari gets up to leave, you can see whatever mechanical tail they have trail behind them, which would indicate that Tamari still hasn't snapped back to reality despite "deleting" themselves online, their one and only form of escapism. Which makes the horror like droning sound really applicable, as it shows Tamari is willing to stop their depression and solve their trauma, but isn't able to do either, As Tamari continues to live in their head still. perpetuating the cycle further. idfk just the ghost song lore.
After watching End-World Normopathy although this isn't the case since her "mother" Fayrouz seems to despise Tamari, it's confirmed that she has an ex who had been interested in retro-style games. The theme of this MV is all sorts of references, including some games that are on the older side and have less of a fanbase. Since Tamari is an artificial human, it's not too far of a stretch to say that at that time his program wasn't at it's peak yet.

This song weirdly reminds me of my abusive ex. Certain lines just line up too well to the point it feels creepy that an AI wrote this.. Like "Let us focus on getting through the day without making him angry again" and "My hands go numb when I think of what's wrong" reminds me of a particular incident where I had a panic attack so bad that my limbs went numb and I lost control of my fingers. I still love the song though and it is starting to help me accept that he was a bad person and my life is better without him in it.

I have this page full of not-great theories if anyone wants to read it.
Some info:
Tamari is an AI created as a test subject by God from HIH. Only God knows why. Idk why. The AI part is supported by the numerous references to video games and computers throughout the PV, and the part which says that Tamari has something to do with HIH is supported by the countless religious symbols and references. Tamari’s looks were based off that of Norman and Charon, hence why they have four eyes and hair that looks very similar to Norman’s, in the sense that it looks sort of blocky when looked at from afar, and that it’s of a similar length.
Now some story:
Tamari was raised in a virtual world alongside a player which experienced the game with them. In the PV we see many different references to a shit ton of video games, heck the entire PV is a reference. From this we can take a guess that life in this simulation is like a series of minigames, and from thus we can take an educated guess that there is some sort of final boss to complete the game, as in majority of games that feature minigames. You finish all the minigames, then you defeat the final boss. Of course, some minigames would require more than two players, hence why we see clones of Tamari. These clones are like extra players used to complete the minigame, or are NPC’s that tag along for part of the game once you find them, like in Pokémon games. In the lyrics we see the words ‘Him’ and ‘Her’ used, which could mean that there have been multiple player of which have played the game. Based on the lyrics, Tamari doesn’t want to anger ‘Him’, and mentions ‘Her’ as if she’s dead. Perhaps she is dead, or maybe has just discontinued playing the game. I have absolutely no idea which characters are playing the game, but considering that this theory is about how HIH relates, the ones playing the game are probably from HIH, as no new characters apart from Tamari were introduced in RBB. Another thing I may add is that the lyrics suggest a bit of ✨romance✨ going on, which hints that the simulation may be some sort of life simulating game, as it’s the two are usually associated with each other by society (Although romance is not at all necessary to have in your life) It’s very likely, as almost every life simulation game involves some romance. Finally, at the end we see a clip of ‘Tamari.exe’ being deleted. This segment of the video supports the theory of Tamari being an AI. Also, the reason for the file being deleted could be that it went corrupt, as when the song begins to end the lyrics suggest that Tamari has caused harm, which would likely be the reason for deletion.
I’m so sorry for how non-sensical this theory may sound. I really just typed out everything I though of not bothering to make it concise or any of that.

Okay so after obsessively listening to Ghost songs for quite some time now and wishing I could contribute a theory to the comment section I have not one, but two so buckle in ya'll.
My first theory is that this is a song about an abusive relationship that is portrayed as a game- or represents how the victim uses games and online media to escape reality.
My main reason for this theory is because of the repeated lyrics "Let us just focus on getting through the day without making him angry again" which could mean that who Tamari is dating (Or maybe even Tamari) is abusive and the abuser sees their relationship as a game to play; In other words the abuser sees the relationship as a joke or just a source of entertainment, or both. In the video we can also see Tamari walking in a hallway full of different doors, walking through them all like their lost: This could be a metaphor for Tamari being lost in their partner's lies and deception. At the second time that we see Tamari in the hallway of doors they actually see the camera and run towards it, this could symbolize Tamari realizing all about their partner's lies and trying to escape from the relationship. At the end of the video we see a computer and something called "ta-m01.exe" that is dragged to the recycle bin and deleted which could symbolize Tamari finally breaking up with their partner and therefore ending the "game"
In complete contrast to my first theory is that Tamari is depressed/broken and in a way to try and cope they get more and more absorbed into media and games, however, then they meet their future partner and start talking to each other and eventually start doing things that aren't just playing games, hence the lyrics "In the future when you and I are eating and handcrafting theory fingers crawl across and playing he's grinning, making memories. Inattentive signs on a wall." The lyrics "Aren't I hurting anyone?" could show that Tamari is starting to feel bad about always shutting themself off from the outer world and staying inside all day. In the lyrics "If you ever die, what will your memory start looking like?" and soon after that the lyrics "In the heavy years, wide-open eyes pervaded in unease! But love still penetrates; It's on our lips, it shows, because of you!"" play, and once the singing stops it shows a drawing of Tamari outside walking while holding balloons with a house in the background. I strongly believe that this is meant to represent Tamari's partner finally making Tamari realize how unhealthy it was to never leaves their house, and helped Tamari become more mentally stable, and specifically the repeated lyrics "Invite suicidation!" shows how Tamari was so depressed that they wanted to commit suicide, but their partner saved them from doing so. At the end where Tamari deleted an app called "ta-m01.exe" could represent Tamari no long being so involved with games or the internet, since there were no other games or anything visible on Tamari's desktop I think it's relatively safe to assume they deleted most other things off of their computer.

Idfk if im looking too deep into this but this song seems to be about Tamari's past trauma and the way they cope with it.
Firstly throughout the song there are three subjects aside from tamari referred to in lyrics, that would be the listener, a "him", and a "her" suggesting Tamari is referring to their parents here. Tamari when referring to "him" often calls back to how he / a man has brought them physical and subsequently emotional harm, while implying this occurred while alongside "her". Tamari throughout lyrics shows infatuation, or more or less a clinginess to "her" of which would imply that "her" is also deceased or out of contact. If she was Tamari's mother she would obviously be protective of him and care for him unlike how his father, "him" would, of which is abusive. The verse "they dance on the edge of life" would be referring to how Tamari's Father and Mother would always be in physical one-way conflict to such an extreme that tamari would concern for his mothers wellbeing. The lyrics "lets get through the day without making him angry again" would refer to how Tamari is still in custody of his abusive father and needs to be careful to avoid being harmed like their mother was (notice the tally mark scars on their thighs). Tamari also has no direction in life and simply wishes to be successful but is hopeless as shown by the chorus and later verses where tamari shows concern for turning into a terrible person just like his father who everyone disliked. Not to mention the depressing connotation within every line that shows how shallow and aware of his own depression that tamari is. The person this song is being sung to is actually tamari's love interest as shown by the lyrics involving intimate actions between Tamari and you, the listener. The line "Projecting by my will, I've been amassing solid iron claws, ignore the rottenness, and see your beautiful, bewildered face!" is Tamari speaking to his interest referring to how he considers himself as becoming a monster just like his father while still being together or wanting to be together with them, much like his parents were, however, Tamari acknowledges the pain and shock his interest would then feel by Tamari's own abusive actions, becoming a mirror image of what his Father did to his mother, Tamari would harm the one he cares for most (Note he only concerns himself with the possibility of becoming abusive, he isn't truly abusive, not yet that is).
Of course Tamari is chronically online as we see them inserting themselves into many pieces of media and internet culture throughout the entirety of the song, indicating that tamari utilizes the internet, media, and technology as an escape from their own terrible life situation.
At the end of the song we see a depiction of Tamari getting off their computer, and deleting their own file, symbolizing suicide or disconnect from the internet in a way, however as tamari gets up to leave, you can see whatever mechanical tail they have trail behind them, which would indicate that Tamari still hasn't snapped back to reality despite "deleting" themselves online, their one and only form of escapism. Which makes the horror like droning sound really applicable, as it shows Tamari is willing to stop their depression and solve their trauma, but isn't able to do either, As Tamari continues to live in their head still. perpetuating the cycle further.

I was recently making an annotated bibliography about ai. How people use it, how it can be used incorrectly, and how it can be made for creativity, giving several sources to multiple things.
