I never thanked you for the day I was laye for school because I binged this album*, that destined day was the first chapter of my Inner Awakening! Ronnie, Cameron, Lee, All of you! I'll see you in the Fifth Dimension and beyond! *I was sent home, Yet I know it to be true-not my truth but a universal truth-If I jever stayed for Behold & XIV, my chakra system (inner and outer body) would have never activated!
Still one of the best progressive metal/ deathcore bands ever! And this song is just so perfect in every way, beautiful and haunting all at the same time!
this album is beyond masterpiece, it's a revolution to the genre, I don't think anything will be able to touch it for several years except born of osiris's next album of course
M.A.S.T.E.R.P.I.E.C.E. “masterpiece at strenuous tempo ending rather preciously into elevated cyclic ecstasy!” My quick version of what I would think it to be as an acronym for this song. Just from the top of my head. Lol!
MEyck97 A few albums are... Shadow of Intent- Primordial Anglemaker- Dissentient A Night in Texas- The God Delusion Enterprise Earth- Patient 0 Whitechapel- Whitechapel The Crimson Armarda- Guardians As Blood Runs Black- Allegiance
I like this type of Deathcore that shreds a lot almost as much as the early progressive and tech-death sound BOO had. Needless to say I love the other bands Sumerian has signed that still play a similar style to early BOO such as Veil of Maya, Animals As Leaders, and After The Burial!
I imagine a film could be made where the piano-ish music at the beginning could be used in the background showing cute little bunnies and puppies and kitties and shit, but then it gets to 0:15 and you see all those cute animals being crushed and mauled by bears and wolves and shit
i know a lot of people think this albums about weed, and i completely agree... like i think this whole album is a story from start to finish of a journey and its symbolism as it pertains to smoking, however, i think this song in particular is about having to go thru sobriety for a period of time. like you have to become sober for some reason and now your devastated at your loss of weed. just speculation
took up my N64 the other day, started playing donkey kong 64. now this intro will remind me of the game every single time. dunno y, but i absolutely love it
Everyone shut up and enjoy whatever they prefer. Personally, Born of Osiris is my favorite band and are great people too. I love every song from The Discovery and The New Reign, and about 80% of A Higher Place. They might seem generic to other people, but only because everyone is copying their sound, but I don't blame them, it's a great sound. BOO FOREVER! \m/
@Susyownsyou I hope you got it in 320kbps or FLAC, makes a huge difference. Even 320kbps mp3 loses a lot of quality. FLAC files are usually 2 or 3 times bigger but the sound quality is amazing
@OpsTeam14 that's an interesting way of looking at it. classical in general requires more of a harmonic understanding than rock/metal since you have a a great deal more instruments in the mix.. although there is some great metal out there on par with classical music in theory complexity. just because there are less notes though doesn't mean it's any less complex.
I haven't seen a single video with them playing it without Jason, I don't think they will play it live again because of the solo.. Watch the video of Jason playing it and you'll get what I mean :(
@Dadadopeman i like to think that its all kind of a double entrandra of sorts... like they album is about ancient and archaic, cryptic civilizations and things we dont know about our earth and its past but in the same way i think they try to also make it somewhat loosely intertwined with weed.
This is hands down the best Born of Osiris song. Period.
Has a deep meaning I agree
XiV and Behold exist.
2024
i love how in the second half of the solo there's just absolute mayhem happening in the background
Dat solo. Awesome. Definitely hear the Petrucci influence.
Yeah the solo reminds me of both Lost Not Forgotten and Stream Of Consciousness
***** listen to the rite of passage solo. reminds me of that
I never noticed that... Dream Theater
Jason did used to play a Majesty so...
Jason is the modern day petrucci as far as style of shred
gotta love the smooth transition at 0:14
TejMilkMilch xD
Fucking Love how bouncy it gets when he says "You know you can't stay this way, you know you won't be the same." absolutely amazing.
Every time someone says something stupid, or something breaks, I think of the part at 2:07 - 2:09
SYSTEM FAILUREEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!
Me too! 😂😂
"System failu-u-u-u-ure!"
Don’t forget intensive headbanging
@@imoanadz I still violently break my neck every time lol
The greatest metal album ever.
Best song on the album hands down. The solo is perfect.
Behold might have something to say about that 👀
@@Voz34 behold is not ever a song

I was 16 when this album hit. I was a sophomore in HS. This album is sick front to back. I'm 25 now lol.
i first heard this in prison in like 2015
this album is beyond masterpiece, it's a revolution to the genre, I don't think anything will be able to touch it for several years except born of osiris's next album of course

DUDE THE MELODY AFTER THE HEAVY METAL IN THE BACKGROUND IS FUCKING AMAZING!
This was peak BoO
DEVASTATING! this album surprised me completely, that's how good it is.
I remember my 1st listen on this I swore he said “FORGET THE PAST AS YOU TAKE IN YOUR ASSSSS TAKE IT IN YOUR ASSSSSSSS” I was like…. Ayo 🤨 😂😂😂😂
M.A.S.T.E.R.P.I.E.C.E. “masterpiece at strenuous tempo ending rather preciously into elevated cyclic ecstasy!”

Lovely intro... jaw-dropping awesome metal riffs!

Taking a trip down memory lane, forgot about amazing this album is.
THIS is what Deathcore should sound like ( and All Shall Perish)
+MEyck97 Oh god there are so many good deathcore bands the list goes on hahaa

Tell me about them.
MEyck97

Shadow of Intent- Primordial

Make them suffer neverbloom has got to be the greatest deathcore album hands down.
Yea it does!! Reminds me of going into the places with the fairies.
There is something about these guys that just make them better than everyone else lol totally hooked on this album atm \m/
So much nostalgia.
Best song of the album.

Thank you. I cannot Unhear that now.
The more you like outside this world the more you can see everyday. So damn inspirational! I thing I'll use it on my english final.
Lol! Im glad im not the only one. The resemblance is just shocking haha, and it sounds so perfect in this song
every note is a step in spiritual progression
3:16-3:21 "You know you can't STAY this WAY. You know you wont BE the SAME." Fuckin awesome
you made my day
such a gentle beginning then all hell breaks loose
SYSTEM FAILURE!!!. This is their best album yet.
Keyboard intro reminds me of the underwater segments in Pokemon Emerald.
fantastic song btw xD
vocals at 2:00 sound like perfectness times perfectness plus Born of Osiris awesomeness
Since this album, nothing better have been ever heard
Like for us, that in 2017 won't see this song again live, cause the fckn and sensual Jason was expulsed
THANK YOU.
favorite song off this album

One of the best albums, and songs, but God damn what were they thinking about the tone of the guitar work?

Lee is the guitarist still in BOO. Jason Richardson was theone who got kicked out haha.
The sinusodial subtone on 3:14 dropped my coffeecup right from the table...
Pretty cool though! :D
Nearly forgot to listen to this today!
beautifull masterpice
It was Jason who joined CG... Lee is still on Born Of Osiris.
SYSTEM FAILURE!
cool song
Straight outta FF: Tactics, good show!
They are actually going back to the "A Higher Place" type of sound, which is awesome in my opinion.
Real METAL is still here guys! BoO is living proof! THe solo itself speaks for itself! shit the second part of it reminds me of some Slayer shit!!!
Holy fuck haven't heard this in a long time
And it's so fucking good still
best.
song.
evar!
love the bass close to 1:50
Dammit BoO, there goes another pair of headphones destroyed from blasting good music.
I dunno man. They actually just played an ad about liberty, and how prohibition doesn't work. The first and only ad that actually made sense.
Awesomeness
