Nice list of fruits that are quite abundant in Mindanao. Could you please do a Part 2 to feature MARANG, TAMBIS, MACOPA, COLO (a.k.a. breadfruit), BAUNO, BAUNGON (a.k.a. pomelo), and MANGA PAJO. Thanks in advance!
Sorry to say those fruits are not only found in the Philippines but grow mostly in tropical countries and mostly originally from other countries introduced in the Philippines. Some example of Philippine endemic fruits are Alupag(Philippine lychee), Mabolo, Sapinit( Philippine raspberry), Benguet blue berry, Palawan Tabo fruit and many more.
Imissed to eat all these fruit that i always use to eat when i was in my country phil. . I've not eaten for so long since i came n llive here n greece.
Aratiles is from Mexico, was introduced to the Philippines. Guyabano is also an introduced fruit plant from tropical America. Sineguelas also is introduced from Mexico (called Jocote) , the Chico also (Sapodilla or Sapote) and the Star Apple (Cainito). So in all, the Philippines should be very grateful to Mexico and other parts of tropical America for sharing many valuable fruit trees. :-)
The lanzones also grow in other Asian countries. It is also called Langsat. Star fruit is also abundant in Mexico and they call it Carambola. Thailand also grows Santol. Guyabano is also common in Puerto Rico as well as Caimito.
Those fruits are all my snacks in the province in the 🇵🇭 in 1960's to 1970's when I was young. There is NO plastic foods then such as McDonald & Jollebee 😁
Why is it called java plum where there is no place named after in the phil. And to correct also some pics of aratiles are infact wild berries (bugnay) we can differentiate it since we grew up with this fruits and fyi some are not native to the phil.
Aratiles is not a mansanitas. Mansanitas is a small crunchy fruit that really looks like a tiny apple. Turned yellow when ripe, have a single seed in the center.
Wrong! Carambola or Starfruit better known as Balimbing is also abundant in Mexico. Mexicans call them Carambola. Caimito also grows in Puerto Rico and also called Caimito
Borneo at Sumatra galing ang Durian Star fruit origin from Indonesia at Sri Lanka Lanzones originated from Western Malaysia it's called Langsat! Rambutan originated in the Malaysian−Indonesian region, The Sugar Apple (ATIS) is said to be native of Central America or the West Indies.
Dude this is no a strange fruits in Philippines, it was found all over south east asia If you say strange fruit you should put this on your lists. Bag-angan Catmon Pinuon Nativada Basikong Saging-saging Barobo Barombot Libas That should be on your list., But I guess you dont even know any of this 😂😂😂😂😂
