When I made my rock garden, I covered my whole island in brick pathing, that way there was no question where the rocks would spawn in. And then I put Stonehenge in the middle for decor

Hey! just so you know self diagnosis with adhd is just as valid as formal diagnosis! Formal diagnosis is a huge priviledge and not easy to get one. Took like seven years of trying to get diagnosed for me before they listened to me and i could (brushed off for years bc I was not a hyperactive male child). I think some people think self diagnosis is like seeing a tiktok and going "oh I must have adhd" but in reality its months of research sometimes years. Even if you are wrong, if it helps find things that make your life easier thats what matters most i think. 👍

There are also major downsides to formal diagnosis, you are basically guaranteed to face more ableism and discrimination. Its a complex thing for sure. Anyway ik it was a small half jokey comment but i like to talk about this haha
When I was working on my current island what I did was essentially break the rocks every day and leave the debris unless I was putting something in that space. Basically I planned really early where I wanted my garden and since it took me so many irl days and time traveling to get to decorate my island it eventually worked and just took a while, but by the time I had most of my island completed I only had two rocks to move and a much smaller space I had to make sure was covered. Basically my method was very ineffective for me but it worked! Lol
I never heard of the mannequin method! I'm definitely trying that on my next island so thank you for sharing!

Do regular designs on the ground not work? I make town/city islands and I usually put invisible patterns down everywhere, so that by the time my island is complete every space is full. Would rocks still spawn on those?
I'm pretty sure it does work! My mom did it that way :)
Does putting down the transparent custom design make things lag really bad? Or because it's invisible the game doesn't have to put work into it?
