When I was young and dumb I tied my Honda Civic to a 60' walnut tree as an anchor to make sure the tree didn't fall in the wrong direction. When I made my last cut the tree fell exactly opposite from where I had intended. It drug that little Honda across the yard at lighting speed , side-swiping several other trees in the process. The walnut tree missed the main house but managed to take out the pump house and the power line. The transformer on the power pole blew up. The icing on cake was the fact that my wife pulled into the driveway just in time to witness the whole thing! That was 25 years ago. Every once in a while I catch her looking at me , smiling and shaking her head. She hasn't forgotten. They never do.
It never fails to amaze me why people leave something with wheels and a motor anywhere near a tree falling. Calculate the height of the tree, then move all vehicles in a 360° radius twice that far away. No matter how confident you are about directing your tree. In fact, the more confident you are, move it 3x as far. Any pro logger knows that trees can be unpredictable
I only made it one minute before stopping. I could not bear it. I once did proffessional tree work. It took me years to learn the skills & the knowledge of taking down trees & limbs around houses & buildings etc. I made mistakes. I learned. I paid closer attention to what other older men did. This video literally made my skin crawl. I've seen men & women killed & badly hurt. I've watched trees do things that were just insane to see. As for idiots that pick up chainsaws and think they can handle one and do tree work. Think 3 times about it.
What is amazing is that people let the trees go so high and then decide to trim or remove the offending tree. After the dream house is built, but not before. And then park their vehicles so close to the trees.
I had a Queen Palm on my property in San Diego, the root ball was mostly above ground, spindly and tall. My buddy who is a tree guy, placed a bid that was much cheaper than a big company. His plan was to top the palm, and let it fall into my pool. I went with the larger, more expensive company.
Sono degli incoscienti!!! Gli alberi grandi sono pericolosi, non parliamo poi vicino alle case!!!! E tagliarli prima che diventino così enormi?????😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮
My nephew has been back arborist for 40 yrs now..one story, he is 90ft up in a Cedar and top snaps off, 30 ft , tree swings back/forth like a spring. Him on tree, his saw w 6ft bar swinging past him in full on mode attached to the safety rope. This lasted 2 mins. Change pants? You betcha!
Watching the video, it's obvious, people underestimate the weight of the wood in the tree, especially the guy with the pick up or whatever it was half pick up. It always blows my mind when these guys think they can pull a tree that weighs twice their vehicle.
It's shocking how many people have ZERO safety gear on. As someone that had a minor chainsaw incident, due to not having chainsaw safety chaps on, do yourself a favor and wear safety glasses, chainsaw gloves, and chainsaw safety chaps when using a chainsaw! I had been using chainsaws for 35 years without incident, until my luck ran out. I was extremely fortunate my accident wasn't worse than it was, but learned a valuable lesson so that I never repeat the mistake again.
As a good tree cutter, I've watched more than a few of these viids and this is one of the best. It has both good and bad. My fav was the guy who got 3 saws stuck, then used a 5 inch saw and got a great barber chair. lol. I did not care for the narration. vids can be easy, narration difficult.
I helped my cousin take down a 30 ft Cedar by pulling with a truck like in this video...truck stalled on me just as I was giving it full pedal to pull. Tree fell within 6in of fence and missed house...unbelievable luck.
