The Gibson SG actually sounds really weird for this song, to my ears! Humbug is such a Jazzmaster heavy album. That sort of "warble" and "jangly" tone on the record. So much of that is Alex's Jazzmaster. Guitars aren't always super important for sound, but Arctic Monkeys first 3 albums are so heavily based on single coil Fender guitars. Hopefully he gets to playing that JM more again like he used to!
He likes doing that Bowie-esque vibrato these days. Dragging the words a bit is the natural consequence of the oscillation. Sounds better to me tbh but to each their own!
'Arabella' is a staple. 'Fluorescent Adolescent' (co-write) is a staple. So was 'She's Thunderstorms'. 'The Ultracheese' was brought back specifically in Tennessee.
